Many people today believe that God is still working miracles like He did in the first century. Many people say that they can speak in tongues or heal the sick, or that they know people who can. 👉👉👉👉But the Bible does not teach this idea. A miracle in the Bible was a supernatural act👈👈👈👈. It was an event that was beyond the usual course of nature—like restoring sight to a man blind from birth, or raising a dead person (like Lazarus) from the grave. The Bible teaches that miracles happened in Bible times for a very specific purpose: 👉👉👉👉to confirm the Word (Mark 16:20; Acts 8:6; Hebrews 2:3-4). 👈👈👈👈How did miracles “confirm the Word”?
When an inspired speaker stepped forward to declare God’s Word, 👉👉👉👉God confirmed His Word by having the speaker perform a miracle to show that he was from God. The miracle showed the hearers that God was behind the speaker’s remarks. Miracles authenticated the spoken word as God’s Word. 👈👈👈👈👈Miracles verified the teaching of God’s messengers, as over against the many false teachers (read John 3:2).
👉👉👉👉Paul stated that miracles would cease👈👈👈 and be done away when the “perfect” (or completed Word of God) had been revealed (1 Corinthians 13:8-10; James 1:25). Those things that were incomplete and partial (miraculous gifts) would be replaced by the total and complete (the fully revealed Word of God).👈👈👈👈👈 Once God revealed all of the information that He wished to make available to people, the need for miracles to confirm the oral Word came to an end. Now, people can sit down with a New Testament, the written Word of God, and, with honest and diligent study, conclude that it is God’s Word. We have absolutely no need for miracles. Since there are no apostles living today, and since Holy Spirit baptism was unique to the apostles (Acts 2) and the first Gentile converts (Acts 10), there is no Holy Spirit baptism today. Likewise, there is no miraculous healing today. All those on whom the apostles had laid their hands are also dead (Acts 8:18). Once the last apostle died, the ability to perform miracles could not be passed on to others.
The Bible teaches that miracles are no longer necessary since we have everything we need to function in this life, to be pleasing to God, and to survive spiritually (Read 2 Peter 1:3).
Why do I make mention so often about false miracles, tongues and prophecies⁉️ Mostly because the Bible warns against false teachings and false teachers who will claim such.
Another reason is because many people are tragically duped by false teachers who claim—that you, yes you, can have your miracle “if you just have enough faith”. Some go further by promising a miracle if you support their ministry by faith.
If anyone wants to hear or read about the agony of a broken heart over the promise of a miraculous healing then please check out Joni Erickson Tada’s experience as she encounteres fake healers promising a miracle if she would just have enough faith‼️‼️😡😡
Several fake (“faith”) healers have confidently affirmed the “miraculous healing” of persons who had been diagnosed with cancer. These people had come to the so called “faith healer” for healing.
Unfortunately, these dear people had placed so much “faith” in the fake healer to work “miracles” that they even stopped all medical treatment. Some included parents coming with sick children diagnosed with cancer‼️‼️
Sadly, these “miraculously healed” people and children died some weeks or months later of the very cancer they were supposedly “miraculously healed” from. 😡
"The Bible teaches that miracles are no longer necessary"
It doesn't teach that. Jesus said, "Ask and you shall receive." There is no expiration or warning or fine print after this. If Paul wrote the fine print that terminates the words of Jesus, then Paul's words are null and void, because no man or angel or prophet or preacher may cross out the red words of the Bible. If you think otherwise, you don't understand the Jesus' authority. If you read two controversial verses, and one of them is written in red letters, the red always wins. Obviously because they are the words of Jesus. So, you should take that at face value and put the other verse on the shelf to be studied later.
"since we have everything we need to function in this life"
Not everyone does. Many people are sick, born with illnesses and dying from incurable diseases. And this is not what God wants. This doesn't please God.
"to be pleasing to God, and to survive spiritually"
Surviving should not be our only goal on this earth. That's not pleasing God. When God created Adam and Eve, He didn't tell them to just survive. He told them to rule and multiply. Jesus said in John 10:10 that he came to give us abundant life. He said I give you power over all the power of the devil. Proverbs chapter 3 and 4 tells us that wisdom gives us long life, health, riches and honor. Proverbs also says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. So, if all the wisdom in the world was written in a giant book, the first page in it would be about the fear of the Lord, because that's the most important. The first page would be dealing with how to go to heaven, how to be saved. But that's just the first page. Wisdom deals with a lot of other things too, not just the fear of the Lord. Proverbs 9:12 tells us that wisdom is for the person who has it. If you are wise, it's for your benefit. So, an essential ingredient of wisdom is self-love. If you don't love yourself, you are not wise. Secondly, wisdom requires humility. If you are a know-it-all, then you are as far from wisdom as east is from the west. You have to be humble. A humble person doesn't resist instruction and correction. He receives it. A humble person doesn't say, "I know it better than you. Don't teach me!" A humble person always keeps in the back of his/her mind "maybe the other person knows something better than I and maybe I'm wrong." Proverbs says that wise people teach their mouth. In other words, it is the trait of a wise man to keep learning. Wisdom leads us to eternal life. God is the source of wisdom. In fact, Proverbs says that there is no wisdom against God. In other words, we couldn't use this as a weapon against God, because He has the most wisdom in the universe. No one can outsmart God. God wants us to be wise, because wisdom leads to life. Jesus never spoke against wisdom. In fact, if you look in the Gospel, you'll see that He always talked about wisdom in a positive light. Yet, the Bible tells us that "Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand riches and honor." So, if you want salvation, it comes with a lot of other things as well. It comes with long life, health, wealth, honor, and peace. The Bible is not just about spiritual survival. It's a guide that leads us to thriving and prospering on planet earth. It's not about survival. The word "Survival" implies you nearly die but you just make it. No, the Bible is about conquering. What does Revelation say? Jesus says, "He who overcomes shall inherit all things." Rev 21:7. The Bible is a book of overcoming, defeating the enemy. Not just in heaven but on earth as well!
That’s quite a lengthy amount of charismaniac drivel. Kinda like the infamous bridge going nowhere. 😳😇
Silver, let’s review your bad arguments.🤔 😉
First, you claim to be logical but when I asked you to present to the forum just 3 logical rules you dropped the ball because you just didn’t know the rules—yet you claim to be logical‼️🤔
You don’t seem to know the meaning of the word ‼️‼️
Second, I ask you to give evidence of a modern day miracle a quadriplegic healing or the raising of the dead. But again, you dropped the ball saying you didn’t know of any such healings—then suddenly ALL OF A SUDDEN you found a “proven” healer who you think raised someone from the dead, (because he SAID SO)‼️‼️😉 😌
Yes, on the other side of the globe and across the ocean blue free from the prying eyes of discernment media ministers proven false teacher and proven false healer Reinhard Bonnke claims to have raised someone from the dead‼️‼️Imagine that‼️😎
AND YOU believe him‼️‼️
Think of it Silver, you couldn’t find a single quadriplegic who was fully healed but you could find Rhinhard Bonnke claiming to heal a dead man on the internet (and we all know if it’s on the internet it has to be true😀)‼️‼️😂
So because a KNOWN fake healer says he brought some one back from the dead you just believe it‼️‼️😳
Whatever happened to testing the spirits to see if they are of God⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️😳 1 JOHN 4:1⁉️⁉️⁉️
AND that’s the only “miracle” you could find⁉️⁉️⁉️ Your life must be free of miracles huh⁉️
Here’s your assignment silver.
Look closely at the PROVEN miracles actually performed by Jesus and the apostles and see how drastically they differ from modern day fake miracles
