Guys if a girl in her profile says she is curvy/ curvaceous and only has head shots, do you think it`s impolite to ask for a full body shot before you meet her?

Curvy, curvaceous can have different meanings.

Thats one of the things that frustrates me. In real life we get to see what someone really looks like. Why is it that when we get online people think things should be different? Its the same as if they walked around with a large piece of cardboard with a hole for their face so that no one can see what they look like. That would look weird in real life, and its just as awkward online.

To answer your question, sure you could ask. Dont expect them to be happy about it, though.

I think it's perfectly ok as long as you do it tactfully. Unless they are boxy, I'm pretty sure all women qualify as curvy.

I tend to be somewhat suspicious of women with only head shots because often I feel like they're trying to hide the rest of their bodies. If they are trying to hide something that I would figure out in a matter of an instant were we to meet in real life, what else is she going to hide?

I totally agree with Tulip. It really bothers me when girls won't put up pictures except face shots, especially with the curvy/curvaceous setting. It feels like something is being hidden with the ambiguity of that setting.

Don't forget that (typically) women are more self-conscious about their bodies than us guys are. Ever noticed how they're always fretting about looking too fat - even if they're a perfect 10!?

I like a few curves, just not one complete one (i.e. a ball!)

Victory7, great question, and I know you are speaking to the guys, but I want to answer this question as a curvy woman and say, yes, it's okay to ask.

If it's ok to ask a skinny woman, then it's okay to ask a curvy one. If it's okay to ask an athletic woman then...you get my drift!

To be honest, it really shouldn't be a lot of meanings of curvaceous. I feel like curves are in certain areas in the body, not others.

Tulip89, all women cannot be considered curvaceous. Not at all.

Curvaceous means you have above and beyond more curves than the average woman, and in a very nice, shapely package, unlike the "boxy" woman you mentioned.

I do believe one should put up both facial and body shots. Afterall, both parts make up our physical selves. Um, I can say that when I originally came on this site, I had up quite a few pics and the Holy Spirit asked me to take them down.

I was confused and He quietly spoke to me that some of those guys couldn't handle seeing my curves, so I took them down. I felt weird about it. I was a little unhappy, because I'm a whole woman, not half. Either way, I was obedient and I had quite a few guys hit me up and thank me for taking them down....lol...MrWiseGuy was one of them...haha

I left the site for awhile and when I came back, I put up fewer pics, one body pic (after much prayer). Just a pair of jeans and a top, facing forward.

So, long story short, curves are...a blessing, and a....I don't want to say the c word, but....they are a blessing and sometimes a hindrance.

That's true there shouldn't be a lot of meanings for that setting but thing is there are. And to be honest I think both sexes have different meanings for the different categories.

I've seen profiles where the person put a few extra pounds and the pictures show someone as skinny which makes me think the person is the type that will always think they are overweight even when they aren't. Thing is what someone puts on their profile is tied partly to how they view themselves. Which is why I think the description varies a lot. I put less stock in what that description says than pictures that are provided. That's where I think pictures tell a truer story and I would certainly agree, head-shots only can be deceptive. Though I don't feel it's necessarily always on purpose. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt while I do think it's ok to ask the key is to ask nicely and for me personally I don't like asking because if I ask I don't want it to come across as seeming shallow which I'm not but I do think it's fair to be able to see a more full body shot at some point. If you were meeting someone in person you wouldn't just see their face.

"Curvaceous means you have above and beyond more curves than the average woman"

HGG, even your answer is filled with ambiguity. What is average? How does a woman determine how far above average she has to be to in order to qualify as curvy? Is there a certain waist to hip ratio she must meet? If she meets the WHR, is there a waist to chest ratio she also has to meet?

Does it really matter? Are you going to stop talking to her if she's overweight or really skinny? If so, then you are allowing the flesh to lead you instead of God. Physical beauty fades, God's beauty doesnt.
