Admin	Well, I've Never!! Posted : 20 Apr, 2011 03:05 PM Have you ever sent a text or e-mail to the wrong person by mistake, or received one? I've been on both ends. Sometimes it can be pretty embarrassing! Sometimes it can be pretty funny! A couple of weeks ago I received a text meant for somebody else that read "Bubba, go hide! Dad is on his way!" :excited: Poor Bubba!:ROFL: When I first moved here, my phone number use to be the phone number to the old OBGYN Dr. You can imagine the telephone calls I would receive, often in the middle of the night when I was in a deep sleep. I would answer the phone and hear "Dr Jessup," and then before I could come to my senses enough to tell them they had the wrong number, I'd hear all kinds of things that kept me from going back to sleep! :excited: Post Reply
View Profile History	Well, I've Never!! Posted : 20 Apr, 2011 04:39 PM A couple of years ago I got a phone number that had to have belonged to a movie theatre! I can't count the times I'd say "hello", and hear, "what time does the show start"? or "what's playin'? I always had to explain 'wrong number'. I got lots of hang-up calls then too. Guess the hang-ups were people who actually realized , unless the name of the cinema was *HELLO* , they had dialed the wrong number! LOL Post Reply

Posted : 20 Apr, 2011 05:49 PM We used to get calls from people trying to reach a movie rental place...fortunately, we haven't gotten any of those in years!!! I get wrong numbers on my cell phone frequently. Here lately, people have been trying to reach "Tonya". I don't know who Tonya is, but she gave a bunch of people MY phone number! The most amusing of all wrong numbers, though, happened a few years ago. My cell phone rang, and I answered with my standard "Hello?" A woman, who was obviously not expecting me to answer, said "Who are you? Where's my husband? Why are YOU answering my husband's phone? I want to talk to my husband RIGHT NOW!" She got louder and more agitated until I finally interrupted her and told her that I had no clue where her husband was, or WHO her husband was, and that she had called MY cell phone and not his! After she calmed down a bit, she asked if my number was xxx-xxxx. I said that yes, it was. (It was the same as her husband's number.) Then she asked what my area code was...mine was different from his. Turns out, THAT was the problem...she didn't put in an area code, and for some reason it automatically went to my phone and not his! She apologized for her mistake, and quickly hung up. Poor woman. I wonder if her husband had given her reason to distrust him? Post Reply

View Profile History	Well, I've Never!! Posted : 21 Apr, 2011 12:01 AM A few years ago I got a string of text messages at 3am from this girl "yelling" (quite vulgarly) at her boyfriend. Apparantly she caught him cheating on her and she was breaking up with him through text message. She sent 4 really long messages, and then the 5th one just said "Oh, sorry, that was the wrong number"! Post Reply

I took several months before they collection agency realized I was not who they were looking for. And as for the hospital, about a week. Also, a few months ago, when I had a temp number, I kept getting text from someone asking about something. I never really understood what that was about. Post Reply

Posted : 21 Apr, 2011 05:05 AM I never had an accidental text before,but some wrong number calls sometimes,which is annoying at times.My advice to everyone is that to be very careful giving certain personal info via text or even emails on your cellphone.Do you remember those days with cellphones that had the info-red features? Well,some people had told me that if someone else was close by had that feature on their phone also,then that other person may receive it rather than the person you mean to send it to.Maybe that's why it's been finished with too.I'm not so sure if I trust Bluetooth or Wi-Fi either. View Profile History	Well, I've Never!! Posted : 21 Apr, 2011 01:38 PM One of my friend's friend got my number from a 'forward' she'd sent. Well, he forwards all kinds of inappropriate material. I've asked him several times to stop, but he doesn't. My friend says he's just trying to get me riled up. I ignored it for a while, hoping he'd tire of it not bothering me and just quit. The other day, sure nuf, "ding, ding" goes my phone. I look down and there it is. Ugh... So I replied.... "PLEASE STOP SENDING ME THIS GARBAGE!! ITS NOT FUNNY!!" Within a minute or two, I'd gotten 3 texts from people I didn't know asking who I was and why I was texting them. My reply went to everyone he'd sent the garbage to!! Haha! So I wrote, " I apologize. I've asked ____ to stop sending me that type of stuff but he still does. I'm sorry that my reply to him went to you too. Have a wonderful day! :)" The funny thing was that all of the unknown people didn't like the nasty texts either and each one of them thanked me!! Haha!! And I got a text from a friend that was intended for his girlfriend just a few days ago! Haha! I knew when I saw it what had happened, so I just ignored it. Haha!! Later that night, I got a couple texts and an email apologizing. Haha! I could feel the redness of his face through his words!! Haha!! Post Reply
