Posted : 19 Apr, 2011 10:44 AM My cousins were talking about the following topic the other night, (and would you believe it, I stayed out of it. Opinionated Holy Ghost Girl stayed out of it..haha) Anyway, I'd like for you guys to voice your opinions. It's kind of a survey of sorts...haha Okay so... They had divided opinions. Half of them believed that a woman should NOT live with her parents/family until she gets married, she should move out and live alone. Afterall, who knows how long it might take for her to get married. "Cut the umbilical cord," they said. Okay so... The other half of them thought it was better for a woman to live with her parents/family until she was married, for a variety of reasons. I guess something to the effect of Mark 10:7 in reverse...lol... "That's why a man will leave his father and mother and will remain united with his wife." I suppose the question to you guys is....Would you marry a woman who was in her 20's, 30's, 40's or however old, and still lives with her parents? I won't say how I feel YET. Posted : 19 Apr, 2011 02:27 PM I think it depends on the nature of why she would be living with her parents. I think there's a measure of maturity that comes with living on one's own if it is financially feasible. That being the case, I think someone who lives with their parents until they can support themselves living autonomously is fine. Also someone who lives with their parents to support them is doing a good thing. However, if someone is living at home simply because they never felt the urge to leave raises several questions in my head about that person...I don't really want to go into those here. Post Reply

Posted : 19 Apr, 2011 04:23 PM I seriously dated a gal in her early thirties who still lived at home with her parents, it didn't bother me in the least. What did bother me was she made more money than her parents combined and didn't pay rent, help out with bills...nothing. And on top of that she lives paycheck to paycheck, with the credit cards charged up. Then the icing on the cake was when I would hear her bicker with her mother, I just lost alot of respect for her over all of that. Post Reply

If someone could assist me I think in certain parts of the world their are different generations living under the same roof which shows its about different cultures. Post Reply
