Most of us men have not come to terms with the fact that physical beauty is fleeting. What a wonderful advantage a blind man would have in picking a mate! I still look to the outward beauty, but only where I can see that a woman is totally in love with God. That beauty will never fade away. You can see the glow of her joy, feel the love flowing from her, and you know that this is a woman who will be beautiful forever. To me, that is what lasting beauty is all about. Yes, you can see it, and it is so great to behold. My heart yearns for a woman like that, but, they are few and far between.

Good point. I will be honest. Initial attraction often comes through outward appearances, but the Bible says, "Beauty is fleeting and Charm is deceitful, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised." What i get from that is that those women with all the crazy makeup and outfits and hair and glamour are really lying with outward appearances because they might be insecure on the inside. Also, youthful beauty ends when youth does. The Bible says basically that women should not trust things like jewelry and makeup for beauty, but it depicts the "gentleness of a quiet spirit," an inner beauty that comes from godliness. Sadly, many men these days are not Biblically educated and the whole world has to pay for it. I have seen women who might not be considered that pretty become physically beautiful when they begin to talk to me because their beauty comes from the inner love for Jesus that they hold in their hearts. God is the source of real and true beauty and that same beauty abide in those who abide in Christ. God bless, you sister.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with that. lust is anything your body tells you it wants. And yes, it comes in many form, and is usually selfish. Think about what we are talking about, if you desire a woman, aren't you really saying that you want her for yourself? The only reason you take her feelings into it at that stage, is that you don't want her to leave.
We like to justify our worldly actions, but the truth is, it is still the lust of the flesh. You can call it whatever you want, it doesn't change what it is.
God is well aware that we have these feelings, and the Bible warns against giving in to them, much less trying to say it is okay. Why do you think the parents picked the bride in the Bible? That takes lust out of the decision making process. We are to never give place to Satan, and giving in and justifying lust in not just opening a door, it is paving the way for him.
You say Lust is anything your body tells you it want. So,my body need food and water but to recieve that I am in lust? Very good answer brother. I had misunderstood your original post, it seems. I was under the impression that you were saying that you couldn't be interested in a woman that was not physically attractive. I think, personally, that there is nothing more beautiful than a woman that loves the Lord. They glow, and you can feel the love and peace radiating from them. I have seen this and been attracted to them, when normally they would not have been considered physically attractive.
I can give you plenty of scripture to prove the point about the deceitfulness of fleshly beauty, but it seems you do look beyond that at some point.
Also, the point about food....when it goes beyond need, to want, is when it turns to lust. There is nothing wrong with noticing a beautiful woman, it is when you start to desire her that it turns to lust. Can we ever be lust free? I don't see how, it is part of our nature. We just can't allow it to enter into our decision making process.
But the one unarguable truth is that a relationship built on physical attraction, has no chance of lasting. The flesh always wants more. It can never be satisfied, once you have obtained what it wants, those wants change. once you have had her, you want her in different ways. Once you have achieved that, you want someone different, then the cycle starts all over.
We have to do more than guard our hearts, we have to check them against the Word of God. Jer. 17:9, The heart is deceitful above all else, and desperately wicked, Who can know it. We are told to ask God to search our hearts and let us know where we are lacking.
I agree we do have to allow the word of God to be a standard by where we judge our heart or MOTIVES. Hebrews
