I just watched a five dollar dvd, "X-Men". Basically it is about humans who have evolved through mutation into "mutants with super human abilities" and how they interact and are treated by humans, ie : the struggle between the two races. The mutants believed they were the next step in the evolutionary process and were treated with contempt by the humans.

Well this got me thinking, first I don't believe in evolution, so for the sake of discussion let's put that aside. Aren't we as Christians really the next step in the 'evolutionary' process? Haven't we been 'mutated', made a new creature, given a new heart and a eternal Spirit? Haven't we been given supernatural gifts? Isn't the human population going to be culled out while we move on to glorification? Are not Christians treated with contempt by this world?

Hmmmm.... Maybe we should quit thinking of ourselves as 'human' and start exercising our supernatural gifts.

Comments? Additions? Call me crazy?

depends how you look at mutants. In x-men, you would be generally born with some mutant gift, and in something like teenage mutant ninja turtles, your horse would be the mutant that became human-like because of experimentation. So in conclusion, both you and the horse may in fact be mutants.

Ok Looney

However....

When we are "born again" we are born with new spiritual gifts from God.

In the movie was a teenage boy who was growing wings capable of flight. But he kept them clipped off and hidden under his clothes so as to fit in with the humans and avoid persecution......

.....How many Christians today are doing the very same thing!

I think Cyclops is super cute! :hearts:

Nah you're not crazy, 2spa. If u didn't have Jesus u probably are, thank God for Him lol :prayingf: . But yeah the idea is the same, those mutants are a bunch of men and women who are "isolated" in this earth cuz of what they have. Pretty much alike us, Christians. Non Christians wouldn't understand, same like those non mutans couldn't understand the mutans. I guess the whole idea is pretty much the same between Christians and mutants. Great comparison! Many things in this universe is Bible based implicitly actually.

JLYM,

Thank you for answering, I was beginning to think I was the only one with "strange thoughts":goofball:

So I'll share some along the same lines as you ; I agree! I think many of mankinds stories and movies even though non-christian have a taste, flavor or sense of a messiah and redemption because it is a universal, innate absolute truth that permeates into the spirits, hearts

minds and the imaginations of man.
