Ad Free?

Im just curious. How many people are really that annoyed by ads that they would be willing to pay $5/month not to see them. I understand what the site admins are trying to do, they need to make money somehow. I just dont get bothered by adds enough to be willing to pay the money.

Anybody here that bothered by ads?

Cobbler---- I feel the same way you do. The ads don't bother me at all. I'll just hang on to my five bucks.

I'm not bothered at all. Even if I was, I'd never pay for a dating site.

Cobbler: have you seen MarryWell.org? It's a Christian . . . well, not a dating site per se, as its mission is to find Christian spouses for people rather than dating. But it is geared, obviously, toward Christian singles.

You do pay for a membership, but it's ad-free. They have forums and things as well. Check it out!

No. The ads don't bother me at all. Although I think that making it optional is a smart move on their part.

One of the best things about this site is that it is free. Once they start charging money for any subscription I think you will begin to see a swift decline. So if they don't mess with that, I'm good. Man, I hope they don't! :boxing:

Just my humble opinion.

I'm not bothered but still it's a gud fresh idea from the Admin, at least compared to the other sites. Plus they sent a message to our inbox as well. Personally, I appreciate people's effort to "earn" money in legal way.

I don't have a problem with them trying to ear some money, this site isn't exactly cheap to run. I also think that putting up the option to go ad free si perfectly ok, I just don't see that many people rushing to get rid of the ads.

People actually have been complaining about the ads for awhile now.

I haven't personally been offended by the ads with the exception of the Wiccan ad they had on here a few months back.

The skantily clad women in the ads were hypocritical. The question I had was, is this a site run by Christians or a site run by nonbelievers who are just making money and filling in the Christian free dating site void?

CDFF is not responsible for the lust that many are struggling with, but I don't think they should present and advertise the sites that cause many to stumble.

I would not pay for this particular site because there are so many limitations to the forum. The "only diplaying 10 threads on the first page thing", not being able to post links, YouTube, and internet pics along with the limited emoticons are just a few of my reasons. But if I was really serious about finding a spouse in this online dating venue, I would not hesitate to pay. Paying sites have more focused, serious mature pple (with jobs!) and being willing to pay to get with the right person would to me, be a attractive quality. Still, $5 is not much, I spend that every time I get a Frappicino at Starbucks.

Bottom line is I think a site that tells us we can not use inappropriate language, etc (cause I belong to a couple of forums where you can cuss, insult and everything else) should hold to Christians values all the way around and not send mixed messages. I'm not sure if integrity or money was the reason behind the pulling of the ads, but I'm glad they did.

The ads only bother me when there are grammatical, spelling, or syntax errors. The red ink correcting them has played havoc with my screen. :)
