I have used e-sword and liked it, but now I just jump online. This is my favorite online version, because you can search multiple versions at once, and see verses in parallel and with commentary. http://bible.cc/

Online I use bible gateway

On my iPod and my Android I use Olive Tree.

I also downloaded another bible application on my iPod when I first got it I didn't like it very well so I deleted it when I downloaded Olive Tree.

I also noticed that while Olive Tree is available for Android phones it's functionality is somewhat diminished from what all can be done within the program on the iPod.

On the iPod you can highlight versus, bookmark versus, and take notes. You also have the ability to read split screen where one translation is on half the screen and a second translation is on the other half. You can buy different versions of the bible in many different languages including original hebrew and greek. There are also versions that are free to download on top of the KJV and ASV that come standard with the initial program download which is free as well. Then you can also download several free commentaries and daily devotionals. The also have commentaries and religious books that can be bought through the app.

On the Android you can NOT highlight, take notes, or view split screen. You can download different versions of the bible as well as the commentaries. Like on the iPod some are free and some you must pay for. Even with the decrease functionality in Android over iPod, it is still a nice easy to navigate way to read the bible on the go.

I use wordsearch, but I started out with their free version, Bible Explorer. They also have a neet little tool called instaverse that will either pop-up the verse whenever you hold it over a bible reference (even when you are not in the Bible software), or it will auto insert the verse with a shortcut key.

Personally I have tried several different versions of Bible software, and I think they are all use old technology. I think someone should put a little more effort into the software.

I like e-sword. Don't use much online.

I also have a 1611 edition of the KJV that has hardwood covers and I tape my cell phone and lap top to it. It's a pain to carry around but if I hit you over the head with it you'll repent!

too funny.

I would love to find a WW2 Bible that they gave the troops~sorry, know this is a bit off subject.

(I like e-sword, but am mostly just "computer blonde")

anyhow, my son made it through two tours, and was miraculously fine when hit in the chest (hole in leg and hand healed well) Was thinking of stories of WW2 when men were hit in the 'chest pocket" where they had those bibles~

Such are the testimonies where God got the glory and men were saved. Son now has scars like his grandpa who had survived even after being put on the 'dead pile'...

Our God is amazing!
