I had been emailing a person for friendship and enjoyed the conversations. I have recently found out that he passed himself off as being widowed but is really separated...When...??? I stopped corresponding. I found out because he changed his profile status.

Anyway, this being a Christian site, do you feel it's acceptable in the sight of God to pass yourself off as something you're not?

wow, thats a broad statement or question I should say.

I think men and women do it everyday on here. There are some people who go to the far extreem of the same question. Saying they are this and that or full of pride and think of themsleves more highly than they ought to.

But with your friend in question, it could be possible he accidently put down widow anbd just realized it was wrong,,, hyummm, hummm. Or maybe maybe maybe, maybe maybe!!!

Humm, hummm, ok, then,,, maybe nothing,,, :peace:

no comment. I guess I should have said that before I wrote a paragraph,,,,:ROFL: I will sleep on it,,,

Heh,, I just realized SJC is deleted,,, bye bye strawberri, have a good day.

Strawberi,

Sorry to hear that happened to you! I think perhaps deception is so much easier here in the internet world. Thankfully, the truth was revealed to you.

I believe the LORD would have "a real issue" with this particular misrepresentation and the man contacting a true widow! I know lying of all kinds is a sin but...taking advantage of women (especially widows) or orphans. If I were this person, I would repent immediately and begin fear of the LORD, which would be the beginning of wisdom.

Hedge,

I hope you are right that it was just an error of some kind for the reasons above... As far as, the proud, boasting types, thinking more highly of themselves then they aught. (which btw, I kind of been accused of at times but I don't mean to be?) Anyway, usually, they (or me; May GOD help, deliver, and cleanse me) are blinded by the spirit of pride and therefore, aren't really doing it out of malicious intent to deceive and defraud just out of personal self-deception.

:prayingf:

:hearts:

Blessings,

Susan

Sorry about the misfortune...'You may fool all the people some of the time; you can even fool some of the people all the time; but you can't fool all of the people all the time'-ABE LINCOLN.... This is the way I look at it, someone professes to be a Christian and they have these lovely testimonies...and then through their reply/or lack thereof, their true colors show... mmmh:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: well, well, well...see where I'm going with this+++ There is indeed a higher power, someone who is always watching over us, and He calls us His children, and He is protecting us from the evil ones... and His name is God. If, anyone wrongs you, pray that the light may shine on them, and that they may leave behind their deceitful ways... as followers of Christ, let's bring the lost ones back to His fold... God bless ya' all...:peace::peace::peace:
