Ladies and Gentlemen of the forum, Brothers and Sisters,
Most of you have been witness to a on going heated discussion pertaining to Catholic doctrine between Archimedes and myself. Some have expressed their displeasure. Others have refuted Catholic doctrine while supporting sound doctrine, (kudos to you!). And still others by private message have expressed their thanks for revealing exactly where Catholic doctrine is in conflict with the scriptures.
I believe this has run its course. To continue would become wearisome and frustrating. Only Jesus can reveal truth to the heart and mind, and I feel the truth has been delivered. Therefore to engage in any further debate with Archimedes would be fruitless.
So in closing I would like to express that Archimedes should be considered a brother as he seems in agreement on the essentials of Christian doctrine. I will no longer engage him in debate except for extreme circumstances. However, I will merely point out proselytizing to Catholic doctrine and will provide further proof when requested by any other forum participant. It has been my observation that when Archimedes is not proselytizing, he contributes worthy posts to this forum.
You are most Gracious. Does that mean that I am now going to Heaven?
"So in closing I would like to express that Archimedes should be considered a brother as he seems in agreement on the essentials of Christian doctrine."
Chuck, you are toooo magnanimous! Will you place the mark on me so that "No one will strike me for fear of your Wrath!"
"I will no longer engage him in debate except for extreme circumstances."
"Here I come to Save The DAY!! (That means that Mighty Chuck...will save the day!!)" :yay:
Chuck, where would this Forum be without you?
"It has been my observation that when Archimedes is not proselytizing, he contributes worthy posts to this forum."
Coming from you this is High Praise! :dancingp::dancingp:
I'll try not to disagree with you.
Chuck, all I ask is for you to Respect my Church. I understand that after 28 years of being a Catholic, something must have happened to you to change your mind, but just "Forgive whomever or whatever" and move on.
You've seem to be doing great now that you've gotten your second baptism (received "speaking in tongues"...cool) (question...can you understand what you are saying when you "talk"). You worship wherever you choose...however you choose, just please be careful of what you say (no Lies) about my Church.
Do I have to Curtsey whenever you pass now?
After reading your post it seems you interpreted my post as condescending. I in no way meant it that way. I merely wanted to be short, concise and to the point. I apologize for the shortcomings of my post, I did the best I could. And in no way meant to be condesending, only to say :
I feel it is my duty as a Christian to point out unsound doctrine yet I still think of you as a brother in the Lord. So in the interest of peace will no longer debate with you unless I feel specifically called to. I feel it is a Christians responsibility to point out unsound doctrine in the church 'especially' between brothers, yet balance it with peace and harmony.
There is nothing wrong with pointing out unsound Doctrine. As a matter of fact we are called to do so! The problem I have with you is that you persist in saying lies about my Church. Andwhen I defend my beliefs and counter with questionsyou deflect those questions with your own questions and finallyfinallyFinally, when you do answer it does not support your claim.
The thing is Chuckyour statement that
no longer debate with you unless I feel specifically called to.
What does that mean? Youre not going to debateunless you want to?
What will all those people thinkthat have written to you telling you how much they support you in this quest of yours to Stamp Out Catholicism. How will they feel? Arent you letting them down? Arent you allowing my Soul to perish in He## by not showing me the errors of my ways?
Chuckjust stop spreading Lies and half-truths and misinformation about my Church and well get along just fine.
Steve I am not going to get into it with you. I have backed all my "lies" with scripture and quotes from the various councils of the Roman Catholic church, I am really sorry you don't see that.
I think Sparrow's wording was great... he can't exactly say he'll never stand up against Arch again because, well, it's really hard to sit idly by while watching people spew anger. If he said he'd never argue again he'd be doing Arch's favorite accusation: lying!
