Admin	What to do on a Friday night? Posted : 3 Dec, 2010 01:42 PM I'll post this in the ask a guy section but really it is open to everyone. What do people do on Friday nights? Obviously I'm single as I am on this site. Can't really say I have any Christian friends to hang out with. I don't go to bars. And the selection of movies out lately is terrible. So what do other people do on weekend nights? Post Reply
Tulip89 View Profile History	What to do on a Friday night? Posted : 3 Dec, 2010 01:52 PM Tonight I have a friend's birthday party. I've also gone to bonfires, watched movies, and gone to concerts. There's one bar I like to go to with my friends that has bocce ball in the back. It's a great place to spend the evening. Heck, one time I was there, we played Jenga for like an hour. Sometimes I don't do anything with anybody. Instead, I listen to worship music during dinner, play a little myself after dinner, listen to a sermon, do some praying, read the bible, and then read a Christian book before I go to bed. Post Reply

Posted : 3 Dec, 2010 01:52 PM Well, tonight I will be finishing up an 8-10 page (single-spaced!) essay that has to be posted by midnight and is nowhere near being done. It's for my "WWI in history and literature" class and I'm writing about the exploitation of women during the war. That probably sounds totally feminist, but it really isn't. I usually just hang out at home on Friday nights. It's a great time for lengthy phone calls with amazing people =) Sometimes I'll watch a DVD. It's a great time to go grocery shopping. If I'm really tired, I'll just go to bed early. Post Reply

I'm going through a Mark Driscoll phase right now and have listened to like 20 Mars Hill sermons in the past 3 weeks or so. I do lots of reading too, though that's mostly consisted of reading WWI literature lately. Post Reply

Posted : 3 Dec, 2010 07:00 PM I come home from work and make something to eat...change my clothes into sweats, turn on the heater, usually eat my dinner in front of the tv and then I read or jump on this site. sometimes i get a burst of energy, change my clothes and take off in the car maybe going to the mall or groceries...I really like going to the produce store near my house, I think they are persian and they have different types of fruit and vegetables that I like to try to cook with. Then I come home and experiment! Sheesh, what a life... Post Reply

Like there's a church about 20 minutes away that does some really cool singles stuff 1-2 times per month on Friday nights. I used to do a Bible study group every other Friday night also, but we haven't started that up lately. Take a dance lesson, or go to dance school socials - there's one near here where their socials involve all the students coming and making sure to dance with any newcomers, so I'm ensured a dance partner even if I go alone. Posted : 3 Dec, 2010 09:40 PM Normally I just stay home with my mom and sisters and watch a movie, play games, read a book, or play on the computer. I often find weekend nights to be the hardest as a single person. I don't know why, but the loneliness seems to hit me hardest on Friday nights. Last night, I had a faculty Christmas banquet...I HATE those -- they are really geared for couples, but of course I'm single. So who did I take with me? My sister. Tonight I had a dress rehearsal at work (college music teacher...go figure), then I went to a Christmas party with the musical theater club students I worked with all semester. I was out 'til nearly midnight -- that's VERY unusual for me. A friend saw me online a few minutes ago, and he asked why I was up so late...had I had a hot date? :rolleyes: No such luck, I'm afraid. Tomorrow, we have our actual Christmas performance. Sunday night my family will probably put up the Christmas tree. Next weekend, I'm playing for a close friend's wedding, so that will fill up both Friday and Saturday nights. Post Reply
