...when I am "pounded by the truth".

So I need to bring this up.

Chuck,

It is so hard to just sit idle while you spout misinformation. I had planned to do this privately and I still think that we should because you seem to enjoy the attention.

To begin with The Catholic Church does not need to Interpret Sacred Scripture. She was there when Scripture was written. The Writers of Scripture were there and they were the Ones that Taught those that went on to teach others. She was there when Christ Himself explained everything to His Church and Commanded His Church to Go to the Ends of the world and TEACH.

Chuck, most of what was taught was taught by Word of MouthORALLY! Nothing was written down until years later. There was an Oral Tradition in The Church that was Guarded ZEALOUSLY! There was no problem with excepting the Catholic Church as The Sole Authority concerning Sacred Scripture until after Luther rebelled.

It wasnt your church Chuck that Christ Commandedyour church startedwhat10 years ago from another church that split from another church because their Pastor offended them by demanding that they do something that their interpretation of Scripture said differently.

Your church gets its interpretation from The Holy Spiritright?

What does your church say that this Scripture means?

2 Thessalonians 2:15

Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

And what about this one?

1 Corinthians 11:2

I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the teachings, just as I passed them on to you.

And this one?

Titus 1:9

He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

It seems that Scripture says that the message that has been Taught must be passed on, but of course since The Holy Spirit shows you the correct interpretationit should jibe with what The Church has known since the beginning.

SoChuckwhat does The Holy Spirit say this all means?

What does the Holy Spirit say?

The Holy Spirit says to Love you.

"I Love ya bro!"

I would like to address one obvious point, then I have to go feed horses and will come back and address your other points.

The obvious one ; is the misconception that when referring to my church it means "The Church". This is incorrect. It is, "A church". The correct conception of "The Church" is that it is made up of people from all denominations (including catholics) who have the Spirit of Jesus living in them. "The Church" is not a physical church, it is a Spiritual Church.

Steve even your own Roman Catholic church has changed its doctrine on this point in 1965 when the Vatican II Council through the Decree on Ecumenism. Which basically no longer calls for a return to the Roman Catholic church as the true church, Vactican II recognized non-catholics as legitimate Christian communities. Non-catholics were now referred to as "separated brethen".

Check it out, it is no lie.

Steve, just in case you missed it :

Vactican II Council 1963-65 "The Decree on Ecumenism"

No longer calling for a return to the Roman Catholic church as THE TRUE CHURCH.

Arch, c'mon...I know it's nice to say, but I know your church has not "kept the truth" perfectly all these years. I would think it would be obvious considering the history of it, unless you're going to try something akin to "the holocaust never happened". And after all that your church went through, you think that she held onto the truth the whole time? Even when it contradicts scripture directly? Sorry for interrupting you guys, but I just can't see your side of the argument. Maybe I'm biased, I dunno...

Two & Don't,

How about we leave that for another post and we just concentrate on this one.

What does your "spirit led" church say is the interpretation of these verses?

"feed the horses"...watch out for the Bu** hockey pucks!

Steve, I'm back.

You'll get a kick out of this; while I was out in the dark feeding I feel as if the Holy Spirit spoke to me. He said it would be wise to handle one point at a time then move on so that it does not turn into a argument. Therefore I cannot address the other points until we are done with this one.

Sorry bro, they'll still be there when we're ready.

We posted at the same time Steve....I'll look at the scriptures but I have to stay true to what I heard. So if we could get that first one settled first it would be great, right now my hands are tied.

I see...

so you are back to deflecting and refusing to answer my questions if you cannot come up with some clever retort. I understand Chuck...sometimes The Holy Spirit has troubles "connecting" with you.

Oh...I might as well play your game

as I know you will not answer my question.

Vatican II...says nothing like you are implying. Yes it talks to "Our Separated Brethren" and how we need to open dialogues with our Brothers in Christ, but...

Perhaps you can show me where and what it says...exactly?

Please don't send this down another long winding road nowhere.
