Are men or women better at:

1. driving? -- Men, because their brains just work that way

2. cooking? -- Women, because we tend to do it more often than men do.

3. laundry? -- Women, because we understand the logic of washing like colors together.

4. diapering babies? -- Women, because of our mothering instinct

5. grocery shopping? -- Women, because we do the cooking

6. cleaning house? -- Women, because we know how we want our house to look!

7. mowing the lawn? -- Men, because I HATE mowing the yard.

8. encouraging people? -- Either

9. giving hugs? -- Either

10. multitasking? -- Women, because men have a one-track mind.

11. exercising? -- Men, because they are crazy!

12. returning phone calls? -- Women, because we like to talk

13. being on time? -- Men, because they don't have to deal with hair and makeup every day

14. playing well with others? -- Either

15. taking care of computers? -- Either

Are men or women better at:

1. driving? Doesn't matter, it's a skill/attribute that anyone can acquire if they have the right amount of dedication/humility/patience.

Because it's true! I do think that men and women do think differently, but I'm not sure how much is gender based. More men seem to have the ability to be krappy at most things in life and yet excel in some random niche that they put all their focus in. More women seem to be better at managing a ton of different things, but they don't seem to have as much drive to focus on one thing in particular. I do think that this is also very dependent on how children are treated as they are developing though. Boys and girls are raised differently and put under their own gender's pre-existing status to a very large degree. Boys are raised and expected to be just like boys and to do boy stuff and to act like other boys do, and then expected to grow into men and act like men do. Girls are raised the same way, so it's really hard to determine how much is gender based and how much is from pre-existing stereotypes.

In general, I agree with Mark. However, it's been proven in study after study that men have statistically significantly better spacial visualization that makes them better drivers.

Are men or women better at:

1. driving? Most men I know seem more skilled at driving than most women I know. But I'm a good driver =) When I was learning to drive, my dad wouldn't let me do driving lessons with my mom at first because he didn't want me picking up bad habits from here... haha... They had a couple nasty arguments about that!

2. cooking? Hmmm... It seems like men are a little more open to cooking intuitively and experimenting. The women I know are into following recipes exactly.

3. laundry? Women, because guys seem to wash things together that shouldn't be or not know what goes in the dryer and what doesn't.

4. diapering babies? Definitely men, because guys are better at assembling stuff than women usually.

5. grocery shopping? Hmmm... whichever one has a list and doesn't shop while hungry =)

6. cleaning house? I've never observed a guy cleaning house. I guess it would depend.

7. mowing the lawn? I've never touched a lawnmower, but they look kinda heavy, so maybe the guy would be better at it.

8. encouraging people? Some men really excel at this, but, for the most part, women seem more naturally gifted in this area -- the whole nurturing thing, I guess.

9. giving hugs? Both.

10. multitasking? Well, men tend to compartmentalize, so women!

11. exercising? The men I know seem to be more disciplined with this than women. It seems like men workout to be healthy, but the women I know who work out regularly do so because of body image issues, for the most part.

12. returning phone calls? Well, in my experience, guys are better at calling me back then my female friends are. My female friends are almost impossible to actually reach by phone.

13. being on time? I'm with pianogal =) Men have less to do to get out the door in the morning!!

14. playing well with others? Definitely men. Women hold grudges and are so mean and jealous sometimes.

15. taking care of computers? Men seem to be more interested in this.
