I've exchanged a few emails on here with a guy who seems nice enough. In the last couple messages, however, some things have seemed a little "off." For example, he'll use phrases that sound very cliche, or even sound like he ran them through an online translation program. The wording is just a little odd. The content is just fine. He answers my questions, and asks me things. He comments on things I've said. Nothing strange there. It's just the wording. Any ideas as to what might be going on? Girls, has anything like this happened to you before? Post Reply

Without fail every time it has been someone from overseas pretending he was in America. That has just been my experience. One thing I noticed was that they can't sustain the "fiction" over time. It breaks down more and more. Oh - and they will come up with excuse after excuse why they can't Skype or call you. Post Reply

Twosparrows, when I forced one piece to fit, it wasn't too long before many more pieces didn't fit...and eventually I had to tear it apart and start over. Do I take it correctly that you think that this one piece that doesn't quite fit right will probably lead to other things that don't quite fit? Asking him to Skype is a good idea. I'm really doubting that it'll come to that, though...it's been over a week since I last heard from him. Perhaps his story falling through is? Thanks guys and gals! I'm gonna handle this guy very carefully, and trust nothing that he can't back up. Post Reply
