Guys & Gals... Why do you have as your main profile picture with...

two or more (but especially two people) and then have a single screen

name and speak in one voice?

To me its kind of creepy as you don't know who the heck your addressing

if you want to respond to a forum post "they" did or to a private email message

"they" sent you.

I don't mind if on the profile one sports group pictures or a picture with two people

in it... But as far as the main picture why not it be just of yourself??

I can understand if you are now with someone and want a "couples" picture as your

main profile picture, but at least have a heading/screen name for the both of you and

In your dialog be clear which of you is speaking.

What are y'all thoughts on this topic??

Hopefully my profile picture is not confusing as to who is speaking.

Glad you cleared that up for us twosparrows :nahnah:

There is someone who posts on here who has a main pic of two people and I had picked one of the people in the picture as her, and when I finally clicked on her profile, realized she was the OTHER girl in the pic. So that was a little confusing, but I'm not confuzzed anymore.

I did wonder at first why Twosparrows had such a long face.... then I figured out who was who.

I think your profile should have pictures of YOU. At least two. Other pics of pets, family, kids, bf/gf are optional. Sccenery, art, hobbies, etc. are also optional.

My personal opinion is that even if you are a couple, you should each speak for yourself.

If you really care that much, just a simple click on their profile to check their gender isn't too tricky if it's a male/female couple. But I definitely agree that it's NOT a good idea to have two PEOPLE of the same gender in your default pictures.

I'm the girl in my picture, by the way. :goofball:

a picture of yourself should be the profile, as far as I'm concerned .. and a GOOD one. I want to consider dating YOU, not your son, dog, cat, giraffe or the kids in your picture.

Some of the most ill chosen profile pictures I've ever seen abound on dating sites. I feel sorry for those who don't seem to show any concern about this. GET SOMEONE TO HELP YOU TAKE A GOOD PICTURE!!

They don't smile.

They are standing 20 feet or more away from the camera and are the size of a thumb in the viewfinder.

The flash and lighting are horrible - shadows and overflash make them look sinister or distorted.

The proverbial shot in front of the computer or in the car is often not done well.

Then, there are those who dress enticingly on their profiles. I've seen Christian women expose more then they should of themselves and wear clothing leaving little to nothing to the imagination. And then they complain when men don't respect them - well dress like you want to be respected, not like you're going to be standing on a street corner ready to be sold or whistled at!

My two centavos.
