Extensive profiles?

If you glance at my profile, you'll see I'm not the type to post three sentences and call it good. I post more than what's probably necessary because I don't want to sound vague, or come off as not knowing what I'm looking for or what I want. Is a longer profile better or will men tend to space out? :)

Also, how likely are you, on a scale from 1 to 10, to go after a woman that comes across as confident and even a little intimidating? Would you view it as a challenge or run the other way?

Honestly, I got about half way through your profile and gave up on reading it. It isn't really a problem with being intimidating or confident. One of the most attractive things about a woman is her confidence. You just don't need to tell everybody everything right off the bat. Your profile is way better than a three sentence profile, sure, but you really just want to offer a snapshot of who you are that will get a guy interested in messaging you. Cut it down to a little less than half the length it is now, and I think you'll get a much better response.

Dont feel too bad my profile is pretty long but you dont want to tell your whole biography all in one take you know. Good luck

I was reading your post and in. . . . A. . .reply. . . Aa. . would. . . Aaaa. . and would like. . . Aaa. . . like to. . . Aaaaaa. . . . ; what was the question? I kinda spaced out. What can I say; I'm just a "man"

Once a man is really into you he will GO BACK and read every word twice. At first we just look at pictures and the highlights as it is a more efficient use of time.

I'm a writer. The more you write the better I like it. Long profiles will drive away the guys who can't focus, can't read (beyond their three-word vocabularies), don't like reading, and generally, have little patience. I say that's a good filter.

At a certain point, a filter just becomes filler though.

 My profile is longer than yours, Hannah, so you are not alone! There are a lot of reasons why I put what I did, but part of it is that there are things that SHOULD just be a given (i.e. wanting a guy who is honest) but these days aren't. Not that a guy who isn't honest still won't message me, I'm just sayin. There are other examples of course. That's just the one that should be most obviously a given but apparently a lot of "Christian" guys think it's acceptable to lie.

I liked the longs ones, as long as it wasn't a life story. I liked to be able to have some extra unknowns to have a conversation about later. "Oh, you do/like this? Awesome!" Surprise is fun! It's like finding treasure! Sometimes:goofball:.

Being a writer too, Miss Hannah, like SilverFire I tend to enjoy reading the longer profiles but would prefer not to have the gal give a "capsule biography" of her whole life, so that we can have barefoot fun finding out more of those details together as we begin communicating and getting to know one another better, prompted by what we HAVE shared in our profiles and our desires to learn more about this interesting to our heart and spirit etc person!!!

I like confident women too and do not feel intimidated by them because I know their confidence, more than likely, stems from their close, intimate and trusting relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, just like mine does.

I personally like longer profiles. Since I am serious about my search for a new Christian wife, I want to know all I possibly can about who I'm going to be reaching out to .. and I would want any Christian woman considering me to know all SHE can about me. I think the reciprocity of detail - for me - is important.

Why? To be frank, so many women show little to no passion for Jesus and others in their profiles. This medium has so much potential for self expression and the written word is something so powerful, so revealing .. yet so many women on Christian dating sites completely fail to show the depth that they usually have of character, legacy and vision for their lives. Instead, there's usually more chat about infatuations, personal likes and where to go date then who YOU are and if I'd even want to entertain engaging with you.

For me, that's VITAL. I've read a LOT of profiles on several sites and was astonished at how little thought by women goes into them. And sometimes, the red flags came up by just what some of them did say .. like their racism, real issues with men, anger, carnality and devotion to utter vanity. One girl on one site once said, in keeping with that peculiar subculture of the church she's in, that if she got serious with a man she'd have to have her father involved.

From where I stand, I want women who read my profiles to REALLY understand where I stand and where I believe God is leading me BEFORE they wink or email .. because I will expect real discussion on things when we interact. I've been through 3 online contacts so far in which women who I know read my profiles just weren't ready to consider where I was going and finally betrayed they weren't ready for another relationship, since they had their own deeper issues. Which is fine .. but it would have been NICE to have heard from them only if they were serious about being ... SERIOUS.

Well, as you may know, my profile/novel was published here on CDFF and will be released in 2012 as a new major motion picture directed by Ron Howard. I understand Antonio Banderas will be cast in the lead role, but I'm holding out for George Lopez. Remember, it's authenticity that counts ...
