What are some indications of marriage you've seen? Aside from wedding rings on the ring finger of the left hand?

Unfortunately, I can usually tell when aguy who is married is checking me out or comes up to talk to me. There is guilt and a hesitancy in their eyes and manner that gives them away.

Those who are happily married have a complete, content manner and look that I think is reserved just for ppl that are enjoying that three way covenant.

I think it is easier to tell if a man is maried than a lady.. men who are happily married have an air about them and those who are unhappy are SNEAKY,,

(In the style of you must be a redneck if...)

If they smell like downy, they must be married.

If they constantly complain about yard work, house work, having to stop by the store on the way home or picking up a kid after work, they must be married.

If they're comfortable talking to you without coming on to you, they must be married.

If they need to check a schedule with the wife before agreeing to go somewhere, they must be married.

@alycorn. I agree with that list if we're talking about a man. But SWB is trying to figure out if this chick who is hitting on him is married.

@SWB. It's really hard to say unfortunately. Like BG and Lady said, a man has it written all over his face. A woman on the other hand, well, we're not always so easy to read, especially for a guy. I'm guessing you're still having trouble figuring this specific girl out? What are some other things about her that you've noticed? Like things she has said to you or how she acts around you?

Alycorn, dead on! Exactly what I was looking for. Cowgirl, thanks for looking out for me! This girl actually answered this one for me. I'd decided that at this point that the ball was in her court. As these things often go, I saw her that day. She's a customer at my store, so it's not like I can really get away from her. She didn't have to say much at all. She came in with a dude, and he was about my age, not a bad looking guy at all, and when she saw me walk by, she got away from this guy like he had the black plague! It was actually funny, most people don't move that fast in a grocery store. Then as she crossed my path later, (small store.) she smiled warmly and waved, at which point I realized that the guy (who also wore a wedding ring) was not looking.

I guess that's what I get for even considering a woman with a ring. On the plus side, just cause she may bad news doesn't mean I have to be! She's been a customer for years, but we've never gone beyond the typical cashier/customer banter, and smiling at each other. (Which I do to have to smile at everybody, even the dudes, and that gets weird sometimes.) I actually talk to her 4yr old son as well, so if anything ever were to happen between us, I'd feel comfortable enough to ask to see some divorce papers, and I'd check the story with her son as well. That being said, I wish them nothing but the best as a couple, and I'm glad I don't know the guy at all, cause I might have to tell him his girl's shady.

@SWB. Kudos! :applause: You're a respectable guy. I'm glad you did not ignore your misgivings and those nagging feelings inside. And I totally know the banter you're talking about. I work in customer service and do that all. day. long. It's fun though. Good times, good times.
