looking for clarityPosted : 4 Oct, 2010 08:12 PMI am not understanding why some men on this site list their occupation as a business owner or stock trader, manager/supervisor; but misspell various easy words throughout their profile and emails. I'm not the best speller out there, but I would think that most adults can spell simple words. It shows a lack of caring, it makes me wonder what women are attracted to them. |

looking for clarityPosted : 4 Oct, 2010 08:32 PMWell, I can't explain it, but I can definitely understand your pain. I'll proudly wear the "spelling and grammar nazi" nametag. I mean, earlier this week I passed over a girl who would have likely been worth an email, but even her screen name was misspelled. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt with "triscadecaphobia," but second graders know "heart" isn't spelled "haert." |

looking for clarityPosted : 4 Oct, 2010 08:48 PMAnother possible factor is that they are scammers. I've met scammers before who give themselves away with bad spelling in their profile text, though their other information seems just right. |

looking for clarityPosted : 5 Oct, 2010 04:39 PMIt seems that most people fall into a common logical disconnect. Most people should be able to spell and construct sentences properly; that is what school teaches you. If you have extenuating circumstances, folks understand, but your circumstances are not the norm. That is to say, it would be horribly illogical to look at every poorly-spelled, half-empty, fragmented profile and think, "I'm sure he just has a learning disorder." And many women have the same sort of profiles. |

looking for clarityPosted : 5 Oct, 2010 07:51 PMMisspelled words in a profile don't give a good first impression, tis true. But I've learned to not judge so harshly right off. |

looking for clarityPosted : 6 Oct, 2010 12:11 AMI agree that you need to look at the whole package. Sandiaboy is an Attorney for the U.S. government and has a Master's in Education. Yet, he has problems with spelling because he is dyslexic. |

looking for clarityPosted : 6 Oct, 2010 04:13 AMI agree that one should not be judged solely on their spelling, but if I post on my profile that I have an advanced degree or a doctorate I should know how to spell "heart", "this","date", or "kids" correctly. I try to at least spell check what I'm writing or at least ask someone on the more complicated words. I agree that some are scammers, while I am considerate of the ones who have trouble spelling correctly. I guess I'm just venting a little, because it seems that some men on here dont care. Also, excuse me if I offended anyone, didnt mean to do that if I did. |
