As Christians is it ok to have non christian friends? I want to say, yes, because we can introduce Jesus into their life but then I'm thinking, no, because bad company corrupts good character. what are your thoughts?

I can say with full confidence that it is always easier to negatively influence the believer than to positively influence the unbeliever. Be very careful not to compromise if you find yourself in a relationship (friendship or otherwise) with someone. God needs to remain the foundation and fill every facet of your life.

Now, that's not to say you shouldn't interact with unbelievers. Jesus himself could often be found in the company of less than savory people, but he never compromised. He knew the reason for which he was on the earth and remained focused on his task. Likewise, as part of our mandate to spread the Gospel, our interactions and relationships will allow us to meet all sorts of people with various views and religions. Friendships may develop with these people since humans are naturally social creations, but always keep your priority in mind and don't forget that the earth is not our final home. Don't let the Evil One drag you down along with the ones he's already ensared. Help them if they want it, but do not become trapped yourself.

I would say there is something wrong with you if you don't have any non-christian friends. We are called to live missionally, and if we only know and spend time with Christians, we can't do that.

I would say its easier to have non-christian friends if a person is a leader, but more dangerous if they are a follower.

Cool. There's something wrong with me. I don't have any non-Christian friends. Hi, nice to meet you!

This must mean I'm going to Hell, right? Three strikes and you're out, right? I'm shy, I preach eternal security, AND I have no non-Christian friends.

Say what you will, but it's darn near impossible to lead anyone to Christ if you're only spending time around people who already know him. I have no idea about you specifically, but I know far too many people who have a desire to just wall themselves off within their Christian circles and never so much as look out to see if there is a need that can be filled or someone aching to know true joy. That looks nothing like Jesus' ministry to me, it looks nothing like the Church in Acts, and it sounds nothing like the Great Commission.

most of my friends are non-Christians, and saddly they are more respectful of me and my being Christian than some who call themselves Christians!! one of the best complements I ever got was when a non-Christian friend said I was only of the only real Christians he knew! Debby
