as christians, should we discriminate?

It is quite sad that i have observed rejection in the internet, and for this i ask:-

1. How many times have you received a mail from a lady or a gentleman from Africa and ignored it?

2. If Christ was you, would he have reacted like that?

3. If you were from Africa, how would you feel about this response...

Thanks for giving it a thought!:nicenurse:

It is unfortunate that the ONLY contacts I have had with men from Africa have involved requests for money. As in - they want me to give them money.

I don't think that is discrimination. WWJD? Love them. Pray for them. Speak the truth to them. Which I have done.

The above post on scammers who want money does address one issue. However, I will address the other one.Why would I lead on a lady who I will never meet. She may be looking for a husband and does not want to write to me who will not go over and visit her.

A year ago a man talked a women from over seas to come here and meet him. They both were from this site and a major fight occured.something went wrong.

We are to be wise.I hope you understand.Dennis

I'm not particularly interested in a girl on the other side of my state, much less on the other side of the Atlantic. My reaction to someone from Africa emailing me would be the same as a girl from Ireland, France, Germany, Australia, China, or Russia. Sorry, but it's too far away.

I agree, unless a woman is within proximity or she is going to relocate to where I am, than its as usless as a half baked cake to try to start something.

"sorry for your experiences, however there are many genuine people in africa too,,the ones who want to meet people, the world is a global village you know,,hope one day you will experience this side of our pple." - And though this may be true, sadly, those are the individuals that tend to write. Sadly, it's those of lesser intentions that do most of the writing. In these cases, it's not about discrimination but safety.

And until the richer, purer hearts of Africa speak out, those that seek to do harm are the most vocal. And yes, as sad as it may be, it does cause one pause...

I would agree with many of the replies here about distance etc. You really need to address this question to Africans living in the west.

1. How many times have you received a mail from a lady or a gentleman from Africa and ignored it?

I always look into and read the mails I get, but due to very different cultures, I've very often ignored them, mostly because the times I have answered I'm not interested, they take it as encouragement to continuing writing to me, we'll be soooo good friends, my family like you already:stop:

It's not just Africans, it's from many other places too, f.ex Turkey, Pakistan, and so on. I've even received an e-mail from a sister of a Pakistani guy, telling he needs a good wife, and so forth.

I work in a "traditional" male job, I do heavy lifts, and so on, and things that in some cases threatens guys (lucky enough for me, some guys at my work place thinks it's cool that I run around with tools.. and some others feel I threaten their manhood), how can a guy from a country, where the woman are ment to be in the kitchen and raise the kids all day long cope with that? He probably wouldn't, and I know from experience with a colleague of mine, that is from a foreign country, that he has trouble with seeing me working as I do.

I'm open for people from other countries, but I'm very picky about their culture when it comes to how they look on/treat woman. The same with those who is eager about getting married so they can get a citizenship.

2.

Gods plan for Christ was for Him to die on the cross for our sins, and His bride will one day be the church (which means, yellow, brown, black, red, white, and frozen blue people like me).

God wants the best for His children, not nessecary that one pick mate by looks, but what's in their hearts and personality, though looks does also matter to some extent, if not we all probably would have looked the same.

3. I'm not from Africa... but I would encourage whomever that reads it that is from Africa to not give up, even if you get some hundreds of ignorations or turn downs. That doesn't mean God doesn't have anyone from you, maybe more that you should try to seek Him first to find a match, He's after all the best match maker one can get.
