Doesn't really matter. It is the symbolism that counts :)

The Right Flowers from the Right person will last Forever.

A single rose from a five year old to his Mother will Endure in her Heart a Lifetime. This is something that took me a long time to realize. Flowers from the Heart never Die!

Awww... what Arch said is sweet and true.

Some women dry (or press) the flowers they get... Also, if you do some research online, you can come up w/ some tips to getting cut flowers to last longer. I know that Real Simple magazine has at had a couple or so articles on that through the years with tips that really work. I think most (if not all?) of their articles are archived on their website.
