Hello ~

This question may have been asked before but I'm new to Forum so if you'd already posted a reply to someone before... sorry!

HOW WOULD YOU HANDLE THIS ONE?

I've met a really great man on this site & we've e-mailed, used IM and chatted on the phone for about 4 months now, sounds wonderful huh? Well here's my problem, He told me that I'm the only woman in his life, that he does not communicate with others here on this dating site. He told me he's totally commited to our relationship and wants to visit me. He talks of possible marriage and thinks I'm the person God has lead to him. Now... after all this I see him on line here & he didn't respond to my IM so guys doesn't that mean he's already enjoying some other lady's company by using IM???

What should I do? We have agreed that after GOD, TRUST is suppose to be the top priority in a relationship. Is this something I should address or just sit back & feel uneasy? How far should I go in this situation?

Thanks for your thoughts on this ~

You may well be justified in your suspicions, I don't know. BUT, I have learned from a friend I met on here, that if he is online but not on this site, he still shows up as online and available to chat. If I try to send him an IM, he never gets it. I think it happens because he has his computer set to automatically log him in to this sort of site when he goes online. Anyway, that may or may not be the case with your guy, but it's a thought.

I agree with pianogal. Give him the benefit of the doubt.

I agree, innocent until proven guilty. But sitting and being uneasy isn't the answer either. Communication is what's up. You have to be able to talk to him about whatever. I would say, I saw you were online and tried to IM you. I think when we come online, if we hadn't previously logged out, it shows we are 'online now'. Something like that with no accusatory tone.

Hi there,

Just my two cents....don't let it eat at you. Simply ask him. Trust takes time to build and as you know....happens through the course of many occurrences. You have not known this guy that long...so trust is naturally still building.

Best of wishes and God bless,

Elisa

Mandie,

You been given good advice by your Sisters. Here is another possibility. He may have his browser set up to not allow IMing. Also he may have not logged out from his last session and upon coming online this site may show him as being online.

Another possibility is that he may be away from his computer but he is still online or a friend of his is using the computer and is on another webpage and this site see him as being online (cookies will do that).

Anyway, many possibilties. mention to him that you tried IMing him and see where it goes.

My prayers are with you two.

God Bless

Steve
