First of all, I forgot how exhausting playing on sand is. Second of all, I forgot how painful diving into it can be. Third of all, one of the girls that played with us wouldn't take my cra p. I did a little trash talking and she sent it right back at me, which I loved. After we were done and everybody left, my friend basically told me to back off because he had called dibs on her first. I don't have a problem with giving him the first shot at her, but how long do I have to wait before his original dibs claim ceases to be in effect? Post Reply

Anyway...I don't see any reason to honor a stupid dibs thing...that's kind of childish isn't it? Especially when it about another human free agent? Challenge him to a duel or something. I guess what you do depends on how attracted you are to her/she is to you. Maybe you should ask her who she is more interested in, lol...or if she is interested at all. Might even be a good conversation starter to make your intentions known. I looked up the International Dibs Council rules and it said "30 days"...but I really doubt that it's any kind of legally binding verbal contract. :peace::peace: Post Reply

My girlfriend is a redhead you racist punk! :goofball: Just kidding, as I hope you were:laugh:. But yeah, I'd go for it....who knows, you may miss out on something awesome if you don't. I would recommend speaking to all parties in question though. Probably her first, ask her if she's interested in you or your "buddy" at all. If she's interested in you, then talk to him, to see if he was really serious, and if he's still serious if she's interested in you/not interested in him...anyway...just a suggestion. Seems like that would be the only way to hang on to your friend if he really was serious....but I think it's kinda lame to seriously call "dibs" on another human and expect people to take you seriously... :peace::peace: Post Reply

The 'dibs' lasts as long as she shows any interest in him. If she doesn't, or it stops..... even if he is still interested, then she is up for ---- uh I mean charge forward and take --- hmmmmmm don't want to say that. Ah - the dibs are up at that point. Posted : 17 May, 2010 09:51 PM Hi Tulip, I don't know anything about dib rules, but after spending decades working with youth, I can tell you that most girls get really turned off by guys fighting over them like a chunk of meat at the market. Girls don't like watching guys make fools out of themselves when they don't even care to ask her opinion. You don't call dibs on a girl. She is not the equivalent of the front seat of a car. I agree that calling dibs is immature. Also, your friend must feel insecure to feel the need to call dibs so he doesn't have anyone challenging him for the girls attention. If he thought that he truly had the character and personality to win the girl, why would he need to call dibs. If you find a girl that does like to be fought over, RUN! That is insecurity and immaturity on her part and it's likely that she will never let you stop fighting for her. I agree that the girl herself is who you need to talk to. Keep in mind that the "prize" is winning her heart, not winning her presence. Above all, pray. Rose Post Reply
