Why do guys move so slow?

When I asked the ladies about their dating frustrations, several of them mentioned that guys take way too long to make a move on a girl they like. In the interest of problem solving, why do you think guys take so long to make a move?

Some of us have been in the ring for a while and some have been down dark allies. We've been knocked around quite a bit so sometimes we are waiting for another blow to come. :boxing:

We watch, learn, and hopefully grow.

We guard our hearts for good reason and it's hard to lower the defenses. But understand that we still get up and dust ourselves off to search for that one that God has chosen.

Have patience with us because if we see that you don't have patience we will begin to wonder if you'll be there when the storms come. And trust me the storms will come.

I think another reason is...

...The Grass is Greener Syndrome.

Some guys are afraid to "squeeze" the trigger in fear of finding someone "nicer" after they have "made the move". This usually goes back to the days of "bar room browsing".

This is one of a few reasons...I'm sure there are more if I had time to think of them.

In my mind i think it would be helpful if i knew how you defined "too long" :) Patience is a reaction to going beyond ones expected time frame or tolerance, and is subjective to one's perspective.

Here's some of the quotes. Infer for yourselves:

"The true Christian men I have met move very, very slowly. About, oh, 50 times slower than any non-Christian (or quasi-Christian). They take a long time to start up conversations, a long time to call, a long time to go on a first date. We are talking weeks here. "

"when u go out with them they r like a octupus or they act like they r afraid to touch u i just dont understand why they cant find the happy medium"

An answer to the first quote comes from Proverbs a prudent person forsses the dangers and takes the apropriate measure, but the simpelton goes on and suffers the consequences.

As far as the ceplipods go, stay away from those guys, but if you swim where there is chum, than thats what will happen. As for me I withold my affections, I think for men being affectionate is tied to our sexuality. I would like to not even kiss before marriage, becasue it seems everytime I do, things wind up happening before time. hope that helps.

I was told by Father to do two things after my wife died. 1. Guard your gift. 2. Guard your heart. I always do both. I don't think I am too slow for any women. I try to be respectful of them and want to be sure we are on the same page, even when it comes to holding hands. I also think that if a woman wants more from me then she should say so. Most of the women I have dated know I am open to any conversation about our relationship.
