Whadya guys think about the provocative ads on this Christian website?

I especially find the banner ad with the blonde in the white shirt intriguing. I don't mean to be an old fuddy duddy but it seems to me that those kinds of ads aren't necessarily Christian-friendly. Is it just me or is anyone else bothered by them?

nope, not bothered because I don't even notice ads when usually browsing the web.

yeah, I usually ignore the ads, but sometimes I do notice some on here that I wouldn't approve of. But I realize that this is a business - hopefully the operators are truly Christian - but how do we know for sure if we don't know them? Either way, I try to ignore stuff that is sketchy and just let God use this website as a tool to help me meet godly men.

Even though I agree some what, apretty lady gets attention because we like to look. That is why god made them cute.

It is how you look friend also. women are around to get guys to keep ok. I have found the ads to be borderline. but in a fair view.

From a Christian woman's perspective -

The poses, especially with cleavage showing, seems to have an air of seduction and temptation written all over them.

Personally, I wonder why these kinds of photos are advertised here, where Christian women who walk with the Lord would not post such photos in their own profiles.

It almost seems like a luring attempt to get the Christian men to leave our website and pursue others who advertise women with sexy poses.

Trust me, I am secure in who I am and what I look like...no jealousy or envy regarding those who look better than me...just believe that the wrong message and signals are being transmitted by those with the lusty/sexy poses and looks.

On the other side of the coin -

I am not impressed by guys who post their bare chests, tight pants or write about their excessive "romantic" prowess.

I delete any who view me or correspond. I am much more interested in their walk and service unto the Lord.

God bless everyone here in their search for that right one!

I actually wasn't aware of those ads whatsoever...I visit this site on my Droid, or with Firefox and I have this thing called "Adblock Plus" its a plug in for Firefox that blocks 97% of ads on sites that I visit.

I highly recommend it!

As far as this site utilizing ads that are provocative...well that is disturbing. I think this site is linked with POF.com in some respects, they share the same Content Managment System and just have some superficial layout changes. POF.com has the same style of ads that you are describing.

And to the poster that says that he feels targeted by the ads....that could very well be. Ads will utilize data about you, gender, location, etc to market more accurately to you.

I've noticed some of the ads, but the first off-kilter thing that caught my eye was some of the little icons you can select to use in your text.

:Mug: :toomuch:  :buddies: :angeldevil:

I don't know if the mods can determine what icons you can use or not, and I know that adults are free to drink as they please. This particular site just doesn't seem like the place where you would want to announce things of that nature?

I mean, I'm an adult. I enjoy a drink with friends sometimes. That doesn't mean I'm going to plaster a little beer mug on my profile. :toomuch: Cheers..?

Has anybody else had weird feelings about that, or am I alone?

Hey Gern, yup i think it's something we could do without, and it certainly would be a consideration on weather i stayed at a site or not, I would be happy to see other ad's as I understand revenue is needed, but such advertising is out of place in such a forum as this, I also agree with the sister's comment on the emote's.
