Fortunately, it is a reflection on that person and NOT us! It happens to everyone. There are also a fair share of scammers and misleading profiles. I haven't tried a "paid" site, but at least the members are more vested. Oh, and there are alot of inactive people. It's been suggested there should be a "last time on" feature, but so far CDFF hasn't added... maybe because it would show how few are on this site. However, one can not beat the price for entertainment...free. Post Reply

Posted : 26 Jan, 2010 07:38 PM I just don't let myself get offended when someone doesn't respond to a wink...probably because it's a bit impersonal, and I don't respond to every single wink either. Though I will say that I met the guy I'm seeing right now by winking at him...but in his profile, he said that winks were fine with him. I just took him up on it. Now a message is a whole different story. If I can take the time to write him a message, he can take the time to write a response and at least tell me that he's not interested. I do answer every single real message I get. Post Reply

That's just the way it is. Usually, it works out great the other way around, though - if a guy winks at me and I'm interested, I'll wink back and then we usually start emailing. And seriously! How hard is it to at least use the "I don't think we'll made a good match" reply? You don't even have to do anything except hit a couple buttons - that would at least communicate that you got the message, but that you're not interested. If someone can't even take the time to do that, then they're probably not worth it. Now sometimes, a guy won't respond for a few days because he hasn't logged in - people do have lives outside of this website, so that's all fine and great - no problem there . . . I agree that we need a feature to show last login date or something like that so we don't get bummed if a guy doesn't respond because he's no longer on the site. Post Reply

Posted : 27 Jan, 2010 10:00 AM As someone who is on a couple different sites, no offense to the ladies, but from my experiences and other men I talk to, the ladies are typically the ones who don't respond by a fair margin. I respond to all the messages women send me though. Really, on all the websites I've been on, I've probably sent over a 100 messages, I've perhaps gotten 20 responses. Unfortunately on most dating sites men outnumber women by a significant margin. This site seems to have a bit better of a balance, but my response rate on here is still fairly low amongst people who actually read them. I also take the time to write thoughtful messages, make comments, I read their profiles, I have good spelling and grammar (for the most part), so I don't think my message quality is the issue. I do certainly agree that this site needs some indicator of last login date though. I really dislike sending messages that will never even be read. I think sending a wink is a bad idea, and I don't expect a response if I send one. On this site I send them out to women I am interested in, but generally just to see if they receive them so I know there account is active. I have gotten a couple of responses from them though. Just keep at it, don't give up! Post Reply

I had no idea you could check if a wink was received - what an awesome strategy for seeing if someone logs in.
