dear folks, i read today where some folks made a story about how city men go for looks more than rural folks..

me i say what? i think all seeing people choose someone they like the looks of.. not whether someone else thinks they look good or not.. yet someone that looks good to them..

so i dont get how they can say rural country menfolks dont go for looks that are appealing to them .. as much as city menfolks do.. i think a mans a man and a womans a woman and we all choose someone that we like the looks of..

i know we use more than just looks to choose a mate..we look for other qualities also.. but less youre blind ,looks do play a part in our decisions..

what do yawl think? is it a difference in country men and city men when it comes to caring about looks?

That's interesting... I have three possible reasons.

1. Men in the city have many more women to choose from, so they can afford to be attracted to only the best-looking women.

2. There is more in the city that can corrupt men, making them lose sight of the non-physical beauty of women.

3. City life is more fast-paced, so maybe men there don't take as much time to get to know and appreciate women for more than their looks.

What periodical or website did you read this from? Chances are it was written by someone in the city. Most Journalists are from areas with higher population densities and therefore will reflect the views of most of the individuals there.

Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder, but "beauty" is also a regional concept. In some regions of the world, overweight people are more attractive because it's a symbol of power, wealth, and opulence. In many Asian cultures small, bound feet are seen as attractive.

Guys in the city are more likely to go for a different type of girl than country gentlemen are simply because women have different roles in those two different settings. In the country, women are out there in the field/barn working...in the city, they are businesswomen or what have you. It's a regional image of beauty.

Just my two pennies.

Well, I'ma country dude...although not the same level as cattleman...but I'm attracted to attractive women. I suppose I could see the "there are more women in cities" point though..

since i use to live in a "city" and now in rural area with small towns... i notice a since of style differs, the rural men are not as trendy in their attire or having themselves groomed unless they are professional/educated men. It's similar to women as well but not as significantly defined. I wonder if its because of a value thing and being primed is wasteful? i have noticed alot of "very casual" woman in rural setting that is not because they are drug addicts, etc. and catch myself wondering why.

what was the question...lol
