What happened to old fashion Chivalry ?Posted : 17 Nov, 2009 11:52 AMMen help me here. I know times have changed , I was raised in the South. Men opened doors, brought flowers on the 1st date. Paid for meals, worked, and the women (like myself) loved them, respected them, and did the same for them. Im up north now (Wisconsin) and I cain't find that anymore, except in med in their 50's. Men in 30's-40's don't do that anymore. I med a guy and instead of asking me out on a date he said come and see me. Stop by his house. Give me a break!!! Will I every find that man? Help me out men, whats the problem? |

What happened to old fashion Chivalry ?Posted : 18 Nov, 2009 08:20 PMnot a guy, however, my bff from high school were talking about it and she has a son.. she told me her husband does that sort of stuff...but he never taught his son, now 26 yrs old........... why didn't he teach his son to help a woman (no matter the age) struggling with a heavy load, or helping with a piece of luggage in overhead bin of the airplane? no idea.... i have about 75% no offer of help with many men, in most states, just watching AND I'M SHORT. (i recall ten years ago when i lived in Nebraska, there were alot of gentlemen). |

What happened to old fashion Chivalry ?Posted : 19 Nov, 2009 04:19 PMI am that way, cause its the way I was brought up and its how I think women should be treated, I was brought up that you treat women with respect. Todays generation and mine just do not get it. I admit when I see a guy treat is GF with disrespect it makes you wnat to go up nd kick him in his butt and say WAKE UP! Its rude. |

What happened to old fashion Chivalry ?Posted : 20 Nov, 2009 03:42 PMA proverbs 31 woman is worth far more than rubies. She is worth opening the door and all the rest the comes with it, that we've lumped in with the term chivalry(it is a deviation from its original meaning, but that is our language.). A woman that does those things is certainly deserving of such treatment, but not all women do that. There are some who treat themselves as something cheap, or just look for attention. God gave women quite a power over men and it is used in different ways. Show that you won't settle for something less AND show you are the classy type of woman that is worth it. Too often both sexes forget those go hand in hand. |

What happened to old fashion Chivalry ?Posted : 20 Nov, 2009 07:57 PMI'll agree with good 'ole cattle...what better way to melt a heart, grumpy or not than to show some common courtesy and kindness, hmmm? Shouldn't we as men be treating women respectfully as we would our mothers, sisters or daughters? I've held a door for some who politely will thank me then others who blow by without even acknowledging my presence, I just gotta giggle at that... |
