ClimRazin View Profile History	Monogamy Posted : 27 Jul, 2026 05:59 AM I guess it depends on the background belief (which in turn often is based on the way people feel).~ If one believes that God has provided everyone with a spouse from the moment they were born, then of course it is not monogamy, because you (whether a woman or a man) betray your spouse. A different situation is when you'd never heard of such idea... But for those, who believe that God blesses our choice, the issue then should be transferred to the sphere of fornication etc. But it seems to me that many may adopt the latter view simply because they feel they have failed irreversibly, so they want to find some comfort in the worldview stance, like "yes, it was bad, but it's ok, now you're good, you don't carry around the corpse of your past". And if they don't justify some present time fornication with the stance, maybe the holders of the former view shouldn't press them, because it won't do any good, only make them feel guilty, unworthy and may actually even bring them back to sin through that.
