Posted : 1 Oct, 2009 08:10 PM In ten years, it will be a real stretch to call either one of us "hot". I'm hoping for something with someone that will be "hot" a lot longer than ten years. (The women in my family live to be 99.) More tragic than ten extra pounds would be meeting someone gorgeous that you can't talk to for more than ten minutes without wanting to run screaming from the room . . . I AM pleased that God has been kind to me as time marches on; but I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that I'm a "fully open rose". I'll be content if I can just keep making this nicely shaped figure get off the floor in less than five moves at the end of the day. :prayingm: Post Reply

This weekend, I took an 18 minute cell phone call from one of my "favorites"; and I was able to speak during this call for MAYBE 2 minutes. I tried several times to squeeze a comment or a question in, but I was not successful. During the call, I learned more than I ever wanted to know about anyone's political views on our most recently elected leader (all negative) and I learned a a little about this caller's brother (all negative) mostly in relatiion to this unsaved brother's ignorant political views. I confess before all of you (at the risk of damaging my reputation as a kind, sensitive, and supportive lady) that I hung up on this guy after 15 minutes. I know. That's why I confessed it. He didn't like the e-mail I sent later, either . . . If you know what's wrong with this "get acquainted" picture, and if you can provide some of your fellow brothers on line with a description of a CONVERSATION, please help them! If this is YOUR idea of a wonderful phone date, please don't ask to call me, ok? I only have a 700 minute plan . . . Hanging in there by a prayer . . .:rolleyes: vkjewell Post Reply

Posted : 8 Oct, 2009 12:12 AM "Enough about you, Lets Talk About ME" by Les Carter talks about how to deal with the Narcissists who are so self-absorbed They become Toxic. And it is stressful having to listen to someone like that. But remember it is called "giving and receiving" in marriage. And couples take turns hearing out the other and bearing each others burden. Communication stops when they can only think of what they will say next and they miss out what the others saying at that moment. The guy you describe could have a self image problem that makes him want to rattle off whatever he can to impress you. :waving: Post Reply
