ok guys and gals too since i know you read this section and post just like I do.. LOL

This is a debate I have with friends of mine. Do you think a wife should work outside the house or should the family cut back in order to keep her at home with the kids and or taking care of the husband / house?

Maybe some Christain POV to help my mind.

I think that's something that hubby and wifey have to decide on together. If no children,by all means work if you want to.

Personally, I stayed home and lived poor until my kids were in school. I tried to work but it was just too hard. Things have changed since the 80's. I'm glad I did it that way now.

I never finished college either and I really regret that now.

HI LADYIZSHY.

I SUPPORT WHAT SANDY SAID ABOUT IT BEING A JOINT DESCISION BETWEEN THE COUPLE.

THE BIBLE DOES NOT SPECIFICALLY SAY THAT A WOMEN SHOULD STAY AT HOME, I DID HOWEVER, COME ACROSS AN INTERESTING VERSE WHICH IS WRITTEN BELOW. IN ADDITION, PRIOR TO GIVING BIRTH, I WOULD LOVE MY WIFE TO WORK. THROUGH GODS GRACE, WHEN SHE EVENTUALLY GIVES BIRTH, DURING THE EARLY STAGES, OFCOURSE SHE WOULD HAVE TO STAY AT HOME, BUT AFTER LIKE A YEAR I WOULD PERSONALLY INSIST ON HER FINDING WORK, I WOULD PERSONALLY CUT MY WORK HOURS SO THAT SHE COULD ATLEAST AQUIRE A PART TIME JOB, LEADING TO A FULL TIME JOB AGAIN, INSTEAD OF FEELING BORED AND OR LONELY AT HOME.

IN ADDITION, BY GODS GRACE, I WOULD HOPE THAT MY WIFE AND I COULD FIT SPACE INTO BOTH OUR SCHEDLES, IN RELATION TO FINDING TIME TO BRING UP OUR CHILDREN PROPERLY AND IN THE WAY OF THE LORD, AS INSTRUCTED IN EPHESIANS 6:4. I'M NOT SO KEEN ON NANNY'S AND OR FAMILY MEMBERS TAKEN CARE OF MY CHILDREN AT YOUNG AGES.

TITUS 2: 3-5

3Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good,

4so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,

5to be sensible, pure, WORKERS AT HOME, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.

SO AS YOU HAVE SEEN, IN SPECIFIC RELATION TO VERSE 5, WOMEN ARE TO BE WORKERS AT HOME, HOWEVER, THIS WAS TAKEN FROM THE NEW AMERICAN STANDARD BIBLE, THE NEW AND OLD KING JAMES VERSION REFERS TO WOMEN BEING HOMEMAKERS AS OPPOSED TO WORKERS AT HOME.

IN ADDITION, WE AS MEN ARE INSTRUCTED TO LOVE OUR WIVES AND TO NOT BE HARSH ON THEM (COLOSSIANS 3:19), SO IF MY WIFE WANTS TO WORK, SHE WILL WORK.

Sandy and Kidd..

Thank for he insight. It has never been a question that I leave the house to work. I have stayed at home and cared formy daughter. I have a day care in my home. So I see what people do to have both parents work and how the children suffer. NOT that its wrong for parents to work if they both must but I have seen parents who both work and they spend money like its water and see the kids MAYBE 2 hours a day before they go to bed. It is very sad for me. I have raised more children than my own 2.. I love children and do my best to teach them.

dear folks, the bible does say for the wife to be good homemakers.. i believe the wife is to tend to the home.. that dont mean the hubby cant help out if nesecery at times.. i believe children need their mother as theyre growing up..

as we can see in the proverbs 31 woman the virtuous wife.

she bought a field and she planted a vineyard there. she makes garments and sells them ,she supplies the merchants with sashes.. so we can see she worked at the vineyard and also was a good saleslady.. she not only tended to the home, husband and children but still worked outside the home some also.. this is a workin woman..

proverbs 31:16 she conciders a field and buys it. from her profits she plants a vineyard.

proverbs 31:24 she makes linen garments and sells them. and supplies sashes for the merchants.

me iver never had a woman that wanted to work.. but i sure wouldnt mind it hehe...

I have ear piercings from when I was a baby (Mom), but I'm with you. Concerning surgical cuts, the knowledge to heal the body when it is sick is given to us by God. Jesus allowed himself to be scarred, so that His elect would be saved. If it benefits more than hurts--By benefits, saving your life or lengthening it.--(like surgeries to help your heart or fix a nose that before you had a problem breathing through) and there was no other way you could have fixed the problem, I think it obeys Bible. Naturally, this means that, if the government made a stupid law that said you had to have a piercing or tattoo, you still have to obey the law of the law according to the Bible and get one.

Personally, I might be going a bit overboard. I don't think it's right to pluck or have laser hair removal, because it's damaging the roots of the hairs, which is STILL a part of our body. In the end, it's like giving into society when shaving and clothing is available. Anyway, I'm sure others don't agree. *shrug*

...HAHAHA, I'm sorry! I was just under the piercing discussion and this lands here. lollol, ignore it!

lol, since I'm already here. I think that one parent should always be home when the kids are home and this does not mean working on the home computer when they arrive counts. ;)

Women are a helpmate and the husband is the head of the house, so this decision is between them and he should eventually decide. Two incomes wouldn't hurt and would ease the burden on them, even a parttime job. There are many things other than a traditional job that she could do outside of the home to assist him, should he agree, such as once in a while checking out the school to make sure they are teaching right, grocery shopping or running tasks that can only be done during the hours of a normal work week.

SORRY FOR THE FIRST COMMENT!

I agree with u, but would like to add : "And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment." Judges 4

Also the Bible says that Aquila& Priscilla both worked as tentmakers. Acts 18. My point is, some women could work & take care of their families as well.

i never regretted staying home with my daughters before they started school. It was a great financial burden. i did, for about 18 months, work with my youngest going to a daycare. That was the one who was my greatest headache while she was in high school. I also started a career when she started kindergarten, and her father had more of a role and spent more time too. I did some babysitting to help supplement income during that time. I learned there is no way one can care for three small children (babysat for two) and give adequate quality time. It is also harder to stay home, but by far more rewarding. Dealing with empty nest i would welcome those times!

I was blessed to be able to stay home w/ my children. They are very happy that I did also. I wouldn't change that part of my life. I got to raise my children and be there for them when they came home from school. I think that is what is wrong w/families today. No one is home anymore to take care of anything.

I work now, but have no children at home. Praise God, he has been good to me.
