Many men are looking for the Proverbs 31 woman. Some have even gone ahead to state it in their profiles. How do you know a Proverbs 31 woman when you have only gone out on one date with a her? Do you really know what a Proverbs 31 woman looks like?

Good point 9.

Men seeking a P31 will probably end up staying single.

The P31 woman represents an impossible standard. It’s a standard that godly women can only strive after.

Men likewise are to strive to “...love their wives as Christ loved the church...” Will a man ever love his wife just like Christ loves the church? Will a man indeed finally accomplish, “...giving himself up himself for his wife just like Christ gave himself up for the church...”? Hardly! (My partial paraphrase)

Unfortunately, many men and women seek impossible standards in a mate. I think they’re destined for sadness and disappointment.

God presents us with impossible standards to help us gage our progress as we seek to conform to his impossible standards.

When God says, “...be holy as I am holy...” or “...be perfect as I am perfect...”, he doesn’t mean we can achieve divine perfection and holiness in this sinful life! Nevertheless, we are to strive for these because they are the standards of God.

It humbles me to my core whenever I compare my progressive holiness and maturity to Gods maturity and holiness.

But when I proudly compare myself to sinners worse than me, I falsely feel as if I’ve achieved something. Please note, those of us who feel good about our “holiness” by comparing ourselves to “worse” sinners than us are subject to the delusion of the Pharisees!! “Worse” sinners than us are not the standard!! God’s standard is the standard of love and holiness we are to strive after!

A wife cannot feed her pride by comparing herself to a sinful lazy sloppy wife in order to feel good about herself, she should compare herself to the Proverbs 31 woman. That would be humiliating and humble and contrite heart God loves.

Same goes for man. A truly righteous humble man refuses feed his pride by comparing the “love” he has for his wife to the sinful love of an lazy abusing husband!!! He rather compares his love to Christ’s love and he strives to evermore love his wife just like Jesus loves the imperfect church.

Looks as if I need to acknowledge my very poorly written response here.

I hope my basic premise can be understood despite my inadequate composition.

I’m trying to perform a more vigorous job of proof reading BEFORE I press submit

She will match Proverbs 31. Get the book Entitled Mrs. Loved, Learning to Love Your Lady the Right Way. It gives a wonderful description.

Impossible you say? Perhaps. Although I am not married (which the Proverbs woman in the example is), I still consider myself a Proverbs 31 woman. I raise my children in the Lord, I work outside the home and on the home. I volunteer my time to help others, and live with integrity. I do not make my own clothes or run my own business, but I do my best to bring honor to God, my family, my church family, and my employer. I pay all my bills, own my own home, and take care of my children that all their needs are met. Wouldn't this qualify as a Proverbs 31 woman, even though not every single item on that list can be checked off.

You have to read Proverbs 31 in the Bible. It's a woman that closely resembles the characteristics of the woman described in this book.

Well, I sure think you would deserve to be called “blessed” by everyone in your household just as the Proverbs woman was in her home. When God brings you a man, he is gonna be one blessed man!!
