Are you talking about just doing good works like going to church and giving to the poor so you feel good about yourself? Are you talking about having a relationship with Jesus Christ or some other deity? All of the above? If you're talking about *being* a Christian, which I define as having a relationship with Jesus Christ, viewing the world through a Biblical lens and living out your life accordingly by doing good works out of love for God, then I would say religion is the most important thing in a relationship, because it defines how we think about everything. Let's put it this way : What my friends/girlfriend believes is very important to me, yes. And if I think, someone believes a false teaching, I usually correct them. So, a relationship would not go too far unless we have very similar/compatible beliefs. Post Reply

The Christian religion (if you want to use that word) IS a relationship so if someone doesn't understand that it would be hard. I've seen too many friends get into a relationship with someone who doesn't share their faith and it pulls them away from God. I would want someone who supports me, and I them, in getting closer to God. So for me its very important. Post Reply
