Do you dare to get married to a woman without having had intimate with her?

How do you deal with this when the Bible says that we should not be intimate before marriage or simply ignore you what the Bible says?

What means " A Long Term Relationship " for you ?

For me as a woman is this subject both hard and easy to deal with.

Hard because I am like most people are, a sexual human being and easy as I obey what GOD have told us.

Dear Molded,

The intimate issue may be a challenging one to you but the Scriptures are clear about it. You, as a Christian, can only have intimate relationship inside marriage and not during dating or courtship.

For me, any such intimate stuff outside marriage would feel like betraying the Lord.

I almost don't believe in long-term relationships idea because it's a relationship without any commitment and open for all kinds of temptation, compromises and sin and broken hearts. Unless, that long-term relationship is well defined by the two people to be a courtship period leading to marriage.

Yes, I married my one and only wife without having had sex with her before the wedding night. I plan on doing it again.

I obey the God's Word in this matter.

To me, "Long Term Relationship" means marriage.

Yeah, I too think of "long-term" as marriage.

Abstaining from sex before marriage is good for both men and women. Men and women who are looking for sex will show themselves out the door. Men and women who try to use sex to manipulate the relationship will also show themselves out the door. Whoever remains is somewhat genuine.

I am going to take a different approach than the others. While I respect their opinion and choices, I believe the Bible is a guideline and not an absolute. We need to keep in mind that when the Bible was written, abstinence meant "cleanliness" and "godliness."

That guideline is one that kept people safe from abusing sexuality, strictly for pleasure.

I believe that, in the context of courtship and dating, a good sexual relationship is necessary. As long as you're not abusing it and you feel good about it, then go for it.

Good luck and God Bless.

Yes, I strongly support not being sexually intimate with someone before marriage.

Ideally, it is best to begin as just friends. Then if you have many compatible goals, interests, and morals, become closer friends.

Once romantic attraction and sexual intimacy begin, it is hard to evaluate a person objectively. And even in a marriage, being close enough friends with a spouse to be able to communicate openly and honestly with each other about a variety of things and to work out differences when the occur, is more important that romance.

Sexual intimacy is only one component in a relationship , even when persons are married and together a good part of the 168 hours in a week. Once trust and open communication occur, I think the sexual intimacy can follow as the married couple communicate what makes them happy and learn how to make that one special person happy.

Many books, videos, etc., are available to for married couples on developing sexual intimacy, though I admit that as a single person I have not read/watched them.

The words "long term relationship" are in my opinion overused and misused. I don't use them myself. I have friends both male and female that I've had for many years, but avoid using that term to describe the relationship.

Hi Molded, I will never marry a woman of course but Marriage is different from a Long Term Relationship. Yes, you are right, we have a black and white to go into , the Bible and if you would ask me, I would like dreaming having a man who values what is written in the Scriptures, no sex before marriage. If he is drawn to God for real, I can go back to sleep.
