Just a thought about...Does a Country matters in Love?

.. some would say oh love knows no reason, no boundaries, no distance. It has a sole intention of bringing people together to a time called forever".( On the other hand God's love is 1 Corinthians 13.)

To be honest... i can say that a country where one is living does matter (sad to know since i have no right to choose what country i would like to be born).

If you are in the room and the chatters are all from the other side of the world.. are you willing also to talk or chat with a lady from the Philippines? Are you interested in knowing her life? Knowing her practices and beliefs and most of all her family?

Or you will just talk with her because you're only two in the room and there's no one to talk with.. except her? Talk or leave the room.. there are choices anyway.

There was an instance that a guy told me that... Philippines.. oh where scammers live... where people live in shanty or poorly made houses...domestic helpers...and so many derogatory adjectives.

Are there cars in the Philippines? What do people look like... brown monkeys?

All these i experienced .. i thank God i did never stoop down .. even i was at my lowest ebb.. I always remember that i have to speak with kindness for kind words heal and bless,

What do you think?

Ha ha people don't have cars there no that's Vietnam. One of my three {hillippine friends has a nice car. As for Vietnamese having cars to drive, look up "Top Gear Vietnam" and watch that episode. Everywhere in the world they've ever gone and done a challenge they always had cars but they couldn't afford them there.

To my mind the country where someone comes from matters primarially in the sense of what sort of government they are under and the weather.

All of us experience racism, even me a 'white' guy in the US. I've experienced racism against me, sexism, discrimination because I have a beard and long hair. We all experience it to some level in our lives. Take it as a reflection of the person discriminating and judging. As Christians we are told not to judge others.

I do think however that the ethnic makeup of the person you are considering getting into a relationship that could lead to marriage matters. I had someone on here accusing me of being a racist because of that. Romantic relationships are different, you are choosing who your children will come from and what they will look like and what blood types they will have and stuff. Genetics is a very important consideration.

Of course that said the country where someone comes from doesn't determine genetic makeup or ethnicity. There isn't an American 'ethnicity' for instance, and in many African countries and south America there are people who are all European. I have a cousin who lives in China and is mostly Chinese, however she and I share an English ancestor.

Thank you Mountain for your thoughts about what I had posted. I learned a lot from you . Thank you for having an open mind and for the respect you have in us especially Filipinos.

yes the weather and kind of government are being considered too and maybe the country's culture , also.

I have experienced being bullied by non -Filipinos too. Cyber bullying is worse for people living in developing countries like Philippines.

Thanks again

Strangely enough, it's easy to look at all the negative things about a certain country and begin to formulate in your mind what the country is like as a whole.

For instance... "You mean there are people living in trailer parks all their lives? The crime rate is terrible there, why would I want to live there? Tornadoes and hurricanes galore... it's not for me. You mean that you have a college degree and work at McDonalds?" ... and I'm talking about the US... hehe.

I've crossed situations in my life many, many times where they take one look at you and already prejudge your character, just for not being white.

Yet, the strangest one was this. I contacted a person to comment on her profile on something that made me smile... not trying to make any moves, but just to say hello and how I liked what she said. Her comment to me was, "Sorry, only looking for westerners". What is a westerner in her mind I never bothered asking. But when I mentioned that I'm from Hawaii USA, her attitude changed. You see, I'm Asian, but born and raised here in Hawaii. So now I'm a person of interest?

Oh, for those of you that don't know... Hawaii is predominantly Asian, check out our directory and see the names... Japanese, Chinese, Filipinos, Koreans... etc.

I lived in the Philippines for 2 years while serving in the US Air Force and travelled around the countryside while there. It's a beautiful country, somewhere I wouldn't mind living. Yes, it has the squatters villages and other negatives, but what choices do the people there have? Yes, many people in the Philippines are OFW's working abroad to support their families at home... it's not a negative thing... they should be commended for their sacrifice and hard work while being absent from their families back home.

No good paying jobs in the Philippines? Go work abroad, make more money than many professionals working there in the Philippines. You can blame the government for that.

We all have our likes and dislikes, and should be respected for that. But there is no respect for being judgemental over a country or race as a whole because of the little negativity that you see.

I'm glad that Yeshua (Jesus) didn't choose who he died for... wether you have cars or not... hehehe....

Thank you Keon... You really nailed the truth .. the reality ...I know many Asians experienced what i had especially Filipinos. I joined in this site because of its name.. because i believe God's love has no discrimination unlike of a man... that people joining in here are Christlike.. and are more mature compared to the other dating sites. Of course... we all fall short.

I am so touched and happy that you know something about my country. Again , thank you and God bless you.
