So I may be old fashioned or something but I still think a man should be the initiator of a connection.

I personally have never had a crush on a man but even if I did, I wouldnt feel right saying the first "Hello". Afterall scripture says he that FINDs a WIFE. Not he that is found of a wife...

Am I way too conservative on that one? Guys, how do you perceive a lady who initiates contact with you?

Ladies, what's your style on this?

Please share your thoughts.

From a guy that has initiated contact only a few times either online or in person, I can say that it would be -refreshing- to have contact made. I will say this though, it'd be a lot more reassuring if when we made contact online, (this site for instance) that we would get a reply, and not just someone who read the message and decided to never give anything back. I believe common courtesy is in order. You read a message, reply to it. This isn't mean to anyone particular, it's just my two cents on the topic.

Miss Shuna, If a woman were waitin on a fella like me to make contact first she'd be waitin a while. Never have been confident in that area...purdy girls make me nervous. lol

I think it's just fine that a woman show interest first:hearts:

hi all,

well these are my opinions,

1st question: See first of all we need to realize that we are human beings & after that we are men / women.:stop: Feelings are meant to be expressed. if you like some guy/ gal, there is nothing wrong in saying a simple "Hello". He/She wont grab you by your neck for saying that! ... so i feel that you (Shunammite) are a bit conservative on that one. . but thats ok women do feel like that.

2nd question: It depends how the lady initiates contact with a man. Decency is appreciated. .... u getting me???

3rd question: ha this is not my question!

dear beloved, i have no problems with a woman who would speak first.. wouldnt cause me to feel any less of her. might even make me feel more respect for her as it does take guts to speak out first..

Wouldnt that make the woman feel you wouldnt take the lead in the marriage as well?

Oh Lord I would hope a woman would not be of that opinion because a man did not initiate the first contact Miss Shunammite. I'm not the most outspoken of the male species but can be quite loud if you pinch me. lol

Shunammite,

I have made the first contact with a man on another website and we continue to talk to this day. I think that some men have perhaps suffered a lot of rejection and others are just plain shy, so I say give a brother a break and contact him first. We have nothing to lose, but everything to gain.

Blessings, Lydia

I dont think there is anything wrong with a woman initiating a freindship, especially here, for conversation and all, your conscience should allow that, just dont be any more forward then you feel comfortable beyond that.

My feelings are that it shouldn't matter who makes the first move...just as long as someone does. There's nothing worse than a life full of "what if's" eatting you up cause you didn't just step out there and try!
