The Bible seems to have different ideas about male female relationships and as it is written,

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. Gen. 2:18

1 Cor 7:1 Concerning the things about which you wrote, it is good for a man not to touch a woman.

1 Corinthians 11:7b-9. Woman is the glory of man. 8 for man is not from woman, but woman from man. 9 nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man.

For what cause shall a man take a wife? :yay:

those passages may seem contradictory but they're not. The 2nd "it is better (etc) not to touch a woman" Paul talks about it's better to marry then 'burn with passion." To each is given a gift. those who marry will be focused on pleasing their spouse (which is biblical). He talks about it being better to remain single as he is. because he's able to please God and glorify Him in ways he couldn't being married.

But if anyone 'burns with passion, let him marry. "

God wired most of us for marriage. Though not all of us will marry. Marriage is for this life, temporary, like the verse that talks about in John(?) "there won't be a giving in marriage etc in heaven..." So scripture it is better to marry than 'burn.' if we desire to marry, then marry, if not then not. God has provided for us to meet our needs and gives good gifts to his children who 'are called according to his purpose.''

Our focus as believers is to glorify God and serve Him as the first love and primary relationship above anything and anyone else. If you study those verse in context of the rest of the passage (as you should) they're not contradictory. Marriage can be difficult and requires work when you unite 2 sinners (though redeemed and saved by christ) into one. But can be successful if follow God's blueprint for marriage and can become a beautiful reflection of Christ's marriage with the church.

But if we don't marry, we are also called to glorify Him where He has placed us. He provides the strength and grace to face whatever his will is for us.

Hope this is an encouragement!

Rachel
