Posted : 21 May, 2014 08:41 PM Well, if you become friends with someone who lives in another country, then you need to consider that your travel expenses and visa application fees will be about 5000-7000 dollars, and the process will take about a year if everything goes smoothly. The first trip may cost you 2000 dollars. Talk about an expensive first date! :) And of course, these figures don't include the cost of wedding and your gold rings. So, marrying a girl from another country can be an expensive thing. But it's worth it. I don't mind falling in love with someone who lives overseas, but yeah, I would prefer someone in the USA. Think about how you could treat a girl for 7000 dollars here in the USA. If you're thinking about spending that kind of money on dating, then you have a lot of other options as well... Post Reply

Posted : 22 May, 2014 07:31 AM "Means to an End " good one !! here is what i think though ,most people run away from long distance relationships because of the finance involved or for reasons best known to them.. For Example cultural differences;I for one only know a few things about other continents based on what i see in movies and the foreign news on tv..it might take a life time to understand why the folks from other continents do things the way they do because it's alien to me lol... And secondly; the word itself "long distance" you can't see,hold hands or do some fun stuff together...Could be very hard:rolleyes: lest i forget thanks for your response guys...:rocknroll: Post Reply

As for the long distance relationship issue, I will quote what some Christian friends have said about it, "I would rather be with someone that I'm equally yoked with (and there's mutual attraction) who is 10,000 miles away, than to have to 'settle' for someone I'm not equally yoked with -- who lives 10 miles away." I live a long way from most people on this site but would be prepared to travel to meet someone I was interested in or even relocate if it was for the right person and I wouldn't be expecting the guy to pay!!
