Why do guys care so much about looks that they chicken out as soon as they meet someone who doesn't look as good as they expected?

This happens even to ladies.

As much as we talk about the heart one has to be attracted to a person first.Unless people are working together or something then a guy/girl gets to learn the inside of the person then the looks don't matter so much. But just meeting someone here, one has to be attracted.Sometimes it happens that some people look very different from the way they look on pictures.AS much as i feel its good to wait and know a person well after meeting, its also good if one is attracted to the other.

Even ladies run away from guys if they are not attracted to them.

a friend who is a lady did that and I was very sorry for the guy.

Its good to take time to know a person regardless of the looks.

If he is truly a Christian, he will not care about looks. The body is a temple for your soul.

17 Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favoured And Jacob loved Rachel;and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter. Gen. 29

This is just one example.

Decide the matter Biblically Apostelle and do not place an unnecessary burden around the necks of your brothers.

Our decisions that we make are soley based on our value systems.

Mine being superficial when I was younger and today less superficial.

God looks on the heart where man looks on the outward appearence. As we renew our minds and yield our minds under the mind of God we then begin to come into agreement with God.

You ask ..How do we do this? it begins with becoming aquainted with God through His word. Knowing His word is not enough to live out His principles and live in agreement with God> It takes faith built upon communication with God through prayer as well.

As we know and understand ( understand) this is key....Who God is and what He has done and what He is doing we build confidence in Him building trust in Him. Our trust in God enables us to walk accordiing to the paths He has laid out for us and this is faith........Faith that pleases God.

In agreement with God we find unity with God and then build a new value system based in the Spirit of God more and less in the flesh.

We then find our selves making decisions that we never dreamed of making in the past due to the trust factor we build initiated by God. Trust in Him to lead our lives in the good He has for us.

In this we find rest and peace.

I think the first thing you look at, are the looks of someone. But the most important is the heart/inner of someone.

Especially when we talk about a relationship and mariage. You have to ask yourself: Do I want to get old with this person? Of course when we are getting older, our good looks will vanish.

As long as you look like your profile photo then there should be no issue. The problem arises when your photo is several years out of date and, to be diplomatic, time hasn't been kind to you, because it's not unreasonable for someone to expect you to look like their photo.

If you don't have a photo then that's kind of a grey area. I really don't understand those that won't or are afraid of posting a photo because most people will ignore those profiles. And yes I'm afraid it's true that looks do matter, regardless how unspiritual that may sound - unless God is teaching you a lesson, marrying somebody you're repulsed by is not advised. If that depresses you because maybe you feel fat or ugly, remember that beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder: Paris Hilton and Angelina Jolie don't do much for me but some that other only consider 'average' certainly do!

Abraham told Abimelech Sarah was his sister because he was worried he might be killed because Sarah was so beautiful.

When Isaac saw Rebekah his eyes about bugged out of his head.

Jacob favored Rachel over Leah, because of looks.

Lets not forget Potiphar's wife though Joseph was a stud. There are more as well through out the Bible. Seems looks have always played a part to some extent.

I think its natural, one has to be attracted to a person before even starting a conversation.

Its human.

Certainly not human to a blind person...it has been said that ..in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king....but in the land of the blind there is no one eyed man....looks can be both merciful and a curse...
