This is to all of my fellow Christian Brethren ( Ladies are welcome to comment to by the way.) I am just looking to get some feedback about what y'all think. The question is, What basic Characteristics should every Christian man exhibit that helps him to stand out from the world, and show that he is a Child of God and a Man of God?

I know about the things that Scripture tell us, I just want to see what my fellow Christian Men think is all.

Well, there's a brother here who doesn't hesitate to respond to women's issues. Since I don't see this a a mans's issue and got the nod from you country boy, my response is simply Integrity.

Hello my brother!

I first wanna acknowledge a very good attitude from you as reading your post,

Your energy's very pleasent, can almost hear a friendly tone as asking your question. We need that so we can interact without reacting to one onother.

Thank you dear,

Keep that up!!

My answer to your question is ganna be based on the work place environment since I don't have life but always at work.

With me its: Excellence

I really appreciate it when one goes beyond what is expected of him/her when coming to performance. I'm very sensitive to such behavior,

It doesn't take much for me to notice.

This in me reflects the character of Daniel who was recognized (working in a foreign country) for he's excellence when persuing he's given tasks. For that reason he was chosen to serve/work in government as promotion for he's well done duties when going out of he's way to deliver.

If I could only pick one, I'd go with humility, it's the root of just about every other good virtue, but basically, whatever is the exact opposite of what the world is promoting for men, which seems to be unstable, inconsistent uber-egoism. A christian man's attributes should be patience, strength, humility, and yes, integrity. The self-sacrificing nature of Jesus.

All good answers...as there are many traits/characteristics that a Christian man should have.

Honesty...taking responsibility for actions and results...not looking to blame someone else.

Leadership...not dictatorship...knowing how and when to make decisions but including the views of others. Yes, you're the head of the home...but that doesn't mean that the wife is a servant...remember Jesus served His disciples.

I look at how one responds to those around...in a restaurant are they polite to the servers, in a store does he defer to others (holding doors, not plowing his way through, etc).

I also look at how they interact with children...if he is rude or ignores kids...that's not a good sign.

Just a few of my thoughts...

One passage of scripture this reminds me of is one we went over at my church last Sunday when Jesus and the disciples are having the last super and Jesus says: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you so you must love one another. By this, everyone will know you are my disciples if you love one another." John 13:34-35

Renov8Elev8 I love your answer; I think you hit the nail on the head. Also the walkers with Y-shua that I know really are in general happy-go-lucky people; they are not complainers, slanders of others. They actually talk Scripture. I man it just comes up in conversations and the conversation flows. I know for me I do not want a man I have to lead and teach Y-shua. Ive had enough of these frogs that have never turned into my prince. They need to be at least my equal in wanting the things of G-d. Now each person is different there are liberal Christians out there but I am not.

mcubed ,

I try to be a liberal Christian. I try to liberally give love to people. I try to liberally give forgiveness to people, I try to liberally give respect and honor to men and women. I try to liberally give of service to people. I try to liberally speak truthly to people. Etc etc.....

Jesus liberally washed His deciples feet and Marry liberally gave of her perfume. Jesus and the deciples liberally gave of their lives. The widdow liberally gave her last mite.

So is their not a liberality that is Holly?

Her use of "liberal" aligns with those who liberally apply the teachings and morals of God, not conservative in their beliefs.
