I have been meditating on the reality of the emotion of anger. The reality of God becoming angry and what does that practically look like.

We all know the fruit of the Spirit is self controll, right? We all know that the voice coming down from the mountain to Moses was a still small voice, right?

Is God hostile in His anger? Is God hostile towards any of His creation?

When a rejector of God stands before Him on judgement day will God be hostile towards them in anger?

No, He will not?

Hostility comes out of unresolved anger due to rejection. Hostility comes from our unwillingness to accept the rejection of others toward us.

Hostility comes from our unwillingness to be vaulnerable in expressing through humility our feelings of hurt and rejection.

In our hostility we live a lie in rejection of the person who is rejecting us. You see...... because we fail to accept that we are being rejected we reject the notion that we are being rejected.

It is only in total acceptance of the one rejecting us do we find the relief of our hostility.

When God accpets that He is rejected by a rejector He has no choice but to give them their hearts desire.

Rejection of Him. In rejection of God their is no more God in their life for all eternity. God does not need to be hostile with rejectors of Him.

He simply gives them what they desire and that is the beginning of their torment eternity free from God. Eternity without God is an eternity with self alone.

Can anyony here bear the though of being completly alone with self for all eternity?

It's an ongoing battle with the flesh...sometimes I want my flesh to take control...but know it is not the Christian thing to do.

My Sunday School lessons over the last year focused on turning what could cause anger into praise...just today my teacher reminded us again how she does it. She used her husband of many years as her example.

When she picks up his socks that he has left somewhere, she is thankful that he is still there. She is thankful for his patience (which translates into procrastination) because only someone with his patience could live with her for so many years.

Her lessons to my women's SS class have really helped me grow in this area as I grew up in an 'angry' home and although I have improved a LOT over the years, I still have a lot to learn. I'm not here I should be but I'm a lot better than I used to be!

Godly wrath doesn't look any thing like human "wrath". The only thing close would be a parent's anger when their child disobeys. God's "wrath" is perfect, and filled with justice and mercy. I don't believe His patience is infinite though, there will come a point when He will say again, "it is finished", and will judge the world through His righteousness. Anyone who does not have Christ dwelling in them, anyone who willfully brings sin and death into the world, will be destroyed.

Is it enough of Gods wrath and anger to simply be without His presence for all eternity?

I am convinced it is. We have all experienced hell in our lives only to turn to God for relief, right?

Their are some here today who are in the hell of their own torment emotionally, needing to turn to God for relief.

Then their are those who are in hell and torment today who will never turn to God for relief and they will continue in their hell forevermore>

Anger in itself is not sinful - it stems from our sense of justice - however how we act in anger often can be. Remember the bible mentions God being angry a few times and even Jesus got so riled he drove market traders out with a whip! Having said that, festering anger causes problems which is why we're told not to let the sun go down on it.

To answer the thread question - no we do not need to be free of anger. What that looks like - well ask God to give me revelation on that one.

What Godly anger looks like, well not sure but hopefully he will we continue to become closer and become more Christ like so if I do have anger it will be with a Christ like heart.

I've learned that a great way to let go of and heal from anger over past failures and disappointments is to forgive myself for being a failure and a disappointment.

Yes dear one,

I agree with you.

At times that's the only way...

Acknowledging our disappointment & failers'

Forgiving our selves And walking away being better/decent people than we were before those errors were committed.
