Is anyone here interested in homesteading? I really feel called to this lifestyle but have no one to start the adventure with.

It is a good lifestyle, as long as one is not overcome by pride. It can be easy to forget to be thankful, as we are blessed and all good things come from our father.

I hope you find a young man interested in homesteading. It sort of reminds me of Little House on The Prairie.

that depends on three things : Location,Location,Location :D

as it is very easy to get homestead claims in Ak,Mt,Wy, very difficult to homestead these locations.

MsMarvel, it makes me think a little of that too. :) I feel like so many people don't even realize where their food comes from anymore.. it's time to get back to the land. Not to mention I think country living is such a nice way to raise children. Homeschool... work together, play together, and just enjoy God's green earth.

And yes, location is important. Most people can't make ends meet solely through the homestead.. that's what online businesses are helpful with. Though there's also honey bees for honey and beeswax, goats for milk and cheese that you can sell for a little extra here and there. Or if you are skilled at carpentry, there's a lot of work to be had in that area.

I would love this but I feel I was born in the wrong era (lol - God does not make mistakes). I bought a couple of Dvd's on it a few years ago. Hard work but so rewarding. I would be a Homesteader!!

the thing You need to consider and plan for is,

the property available for homesteading is usually around 40 miles from the nearest town and it is usually a lil itty bitty town...
