My worth comes from the Lord, end of story. Men (mankind) can be deceived and can be deceptive. what it all boils down to is that the only one I should take care in pleasing (as a single woman) is God. Like we already know, Proverbs 31 explores the instructive counsel that Prince Lemuel's wise mother gave him. She cared so deeply about her son's future and so she was guiding him through the 'Alphabet' of true feminine beauty(Proverbs 31:10-31). She was guiding him on the kind of woman he should look for as a partner in life! Well, back to the point! 'Charm is deceptive' phrase was more of a warning to the 'young prince'- His wise mother was telling him not to desire what is charming, not to fall for charm because charm is fleeting, fickle, deceitful. she wanted to let him know that indeed charm may lure and fascinate and so he had to be warned and be careful. Secondly, Beauty is fleeting would be this kind of warning that i would put simply as; Don't be fooled by looks! remember that beauty is only skin deep,fading,fleeting, nothing but vapor! Fine, although everyone appreciates physical beauty, we must know that it is transitory and temporary. It can also mislead! 'For the woman who fears the Lord shall be praised!' Hallelujah! but hold on for a minute, what does it mean to fear God? It means taking obedience to God's word seriously, It means having a total spiritual commitment to God!... All in all, this verse explained the intimate importance of fearing God! Fine, we may appreciate physical beauty but the most important is the inner incorruptible beauty! The fear of God! Posted : 18 Jul, 2012 12:00 PM :angel:Sisters, yes it means to me all the things the two of you wrote and I did not know about the Prince, that is quite beautiful as I have a son:) That verse so speaks to me that even though my body is aging at 40, and on earth will never be young again!! - my Soul, my heart in Jesus is getting better all the time, as I grow in the Holy Spirit and God's teachings at my church and in the word and ...as iron sharpens iron (scripture)...from my brothers and sisters in fellowship, but the most beautiful my soul will ever be is Praising the Name of the One who made me, calls me by my name and gave His Son to die for me, Praising the Name of the One TRiune God who has my name in the Lambs Book of Life... I think this also goes for men, because vanity can plague any of us sometimes, but my friend and I see a group of men at church in a family and we agree that it is so powerful and lovely to watch these 3 men with thier hands surrendored in Praise to their God!! Men often think their attraction comes in muscles, or their car, or their money, or their handsome face, but there is nothing more tender and lovely then seeing God's people Praising God:) :angel: Post Reply

Charm? charm is a emotional confidence scam.... Beauty? beauty is light,and the reflection of light... as the human being grows older the epidermis absorbs more light and no longer reflects light as the it did in the days of youth,hence beauty is fleeting......
