We can NOT fabricate Godliness since if we could we would not need the sacrifice and gift of Jesus on the cross. Anyone who thinks they are Godly by works then run, run real fast. Fruit or work are the evidence of the spirit of God who dwells in our mortal bodies and over comes the flesh that causes us to rebell against God. Godliness = God in us. God > than us. Posted : 8 Jul, 2012 04:54 PM I agree with you Let this mind, there is none righteous no not one and a form of godliness is so easy to emulate and in this time in this late hour we need to be discerning. Our righteousness are but filthy rags but we are clothed with Christlikeness, Christ is our covering and therefore we approach God through Jesus Christ since we can't stand on our own. God told us that by their fruits we shall know them and no one is attracted to rotten fruit. So men whatever you do or profess I'm going to the Holy Spirit for guidance as we all should. So what makes you a godly man one who is completely submitted to the word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Obedient to the call. Denying himself for the honor and glory of Christ. I left this site and came back because of blogs like this I love "reasoning" together with you guys. God bless. :) Post Reply

Posted : 8 Jul, 2012 05:28 PM Thank you LTM it's God that does the work :) but trust me the questions posed in these posts are excellent conversational starters it really makes you think about thing you may not necessarily think about initially. God be praised for searching ourselves and making sure we line up and are being changed by the renewing of our minds by the word of God. Post Reply

Posted : 8 Jul, 2012 09:27 PM Well am not a man but i hope it is okay if i say something little here- First of all, being godly means showing respect for God and leaving according to religious rules. so what do i think makes a godly man? Obedience to the scripture /God's command(this has encompasses a lot of things for example living out love, prayer, forgiving, humility, integrity, honesty...),Love God,Persistence; for example rising up no matter how many times he falls and so many others. Personally, i think it is very difficult to be Godly by our own effort, we just need the holy spirit to dwell in us so that it's fruit manifests in our lives. Post Reply

Posted : 8 Jul, 2012 10:21 PM Yes, well I Agree with your points that Godliness comes from the Lord and perhaps I was not detailed enough in saying that the term "Godly Man" or Godly Woman is an AMerican Culture Phrase that identifies that a person is not just a nominal CHristian but is living a life of effort towards pleasing Our Savior King who did the work for us. I 100% believe in salvation through Grace by Faith in What Jesus did on the Cross, no one can come to the Father expept through Him as the Word says. Thanks for the replies but this was really meant to be more of a fun, thought provoking introspective kinda thing on what we are looking for in a "GOdly Spouse" LOL, not a Spouse that = GOd or a spouse that is > then God , but a spouse that is < then God but shows the Fruit of the Spirit as He wants us to. Yes, I know math symbols...LOL I really was trying to get us all to focus on God's Work In Us and How that is attractive and should be attractive to a Single Christian of the oppositte sex. GOd gives us gifts, telents and fruits not to boast and maybe my question was poor because it seemed to ask men to boast. Maybe it should have read, How is God moving in your life and showing His work in you in a way that would give and be an asset to a woman as a wife? I guess as a woman i would say that GOd is working through me as a Godly Woman in Prayer Life, and in Growing in Fellowship at my church, and in being open to speaking openly for the Unborn whenever I can. I guess it was kinda a fruits and gifts question but seriously All Glory to God, if any of us are Godly Woman or Godly Men it is all Glory to HIM and most of us Know that!!!! Posted : 9 Jul, 2012 03:50 AM I was thinking the other day how God slowly removes the world out of us and deposites the Kingdom of God into our hearts. This is Godliness at its core. A transformed mind and heart. It is a daily process and every time we role out of bed its a new beginning. Godliness is not something we do its something we are becoming. So I dont think we can put our finger on one specific place it should encompass our whole lives. Even though I think relationship with people and relationship with money seem to be the greatest areas we need to become more and more godly.
