There's no shortage of pretty women, and probably a good few I'd be compatible with, but if they live more than an hour's ride away then it's going to be a very expensive, tiring and generally impractical relationship. The next thing is their photo. Sorry girls, but your location and photo are what appears in the search results, not your profile text! :-( If I think there's some physical attraction there (at least from my perspective) then I'll have a read of their profile. Next comes their age: are they over forty? If only just then not too much of a problem, but if it's mid forties or beyond then I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be with that as my parents are only early fifties (though if the rest of the profile is okay with me I'd probably take a chance). Similarly, are they under about 28? IME women tend to mature a lot and slow down once they hit their early thirties. Of course each woman is different, but most younger women would find me boring and I'd probably find them lacking in "substance" for want of a better word. Beyond that, it's really what they put in their profile and how it matches with my personality. For example, I can be socially awkward (possibly mild aspergers even?) so if she's a party animal :party: and likes having her friends over a lot then that'd be difficult for me, at least initially until I got to know them. Ditto if she's a disco diva or into clubbing :rocknroll: because I try to avoid those kind of places, especially being partly deaf. If she's into sports and keep fit :bouncy: then I'd probably frustrate her because I'm not. Pets are also a no no partly because my parents have brought me up to be house proud which is difficult with free-range animals, and partly because I don't want to spend my free time shovelling excrement off the yard. I could probably cope with a hamster or goldfish though! :laugh: Finally, if she's got kids already then that might be an issue for me as I've dated single mothers before and I've found there tends to be little room for a third person in their family. As a single parent myself that may sound hypocritical but my kids don't live with me so there's not really a lot there to "come between" in my situation! Of course, it'd be nice to read something about their walk with God, but being as this is a) a Christian dating site so it should be a given, and b) people can claim anything about their faith, but they'll reveal their true self sooner or later - unlike age it's not something quantifiable without getting to know them. As with dkj I feel someone close to my age would be a more successful relationship. Someone located to far away can get expensive and photos to see if they are in a natural environment or if they are staged photos. I don't care about the photos as much as the other two. I know females like taking pictures, as long as it's not a picture of her looking into a dirty mirror. I am enjoying talking to people from all over the world though. With that said I am putting it in God's hands so there is no telling where, when, or what age female he has for me. Have a great day and God bless! Post Reply

Attraction 3. Location 4. Common interests 5. Denomination 6. Education PS. Did I mention: What the person says about their relationship with the Lord? In reality, this is should be the first 3 but I did go for 6 anyway. Post Reply
