Isn't it funny? no I'm not really laughing

So i have been on this site for a little while and I have seen a pattern building, well maybe it's built and has it's own metropolis, i don't know. But i am reading profiles and it seems we are all looking for the same thing but it's amazing to me that we have to put up disclaimers like for example

no bar hoppers

no party girls/boys

must not smoke

must be serious about God

just to name a few and it makes me sad, when we come to Christ shouldn't we be a new creature by the renewing of our mind through his word and the Holy Spirit? Doesn't anyone want to walk holy and pure before the Lord leaving the world behind and pressing toward the mark of the prize of the high calling?

Am I alone guys?

I do agree with you, but every Christian has an opinion of what is right as a Christian.

It's amazing to me that's what it is, because our guideline is the word of God and even if you cannot "find" the answers to certain situations that's what the Holy Spirit is for to work in that capacity. My prayer is that men and women alike who profess Christ really walk in his ways and precepts and not let society mold our morality (because we're seeing how well this is working out) instead society must be molded by our example but I guess as long as we live on this earth these are things to be dealt with. Maybe that's why many post that it's so hard to find a godly man or woman which is a poor testament unto itself.

I think it is not so much opinions, as it is interpretation of the Bible. Look at how many denominations there are today and how they interpret how the worship should be, and we all have the same book!

I'm more than willing to talk to anyone, but I feel like it shouldn't be stated on a Christian website that God should be #1 focus.

Even Paul stated that drinking is fine, but that no alcohol would pass his lips. I prefer a life of sobriety, but I'll drink a beer or glass of wine every once in a while.

Sex before marriage? No, not okay, shouldn't have to be stated.

Smoking? It's unattractive, and it's a habit. No one 'smokes casually.' You're either addicted or not, and God had a few choice words about addictions...

All in all, there really should be some things that ought not to be stated on a profile because they should come standard with a truly Christian life. If they're 'Christian' they're going to ignore them anyway sadly enough :(

i m guessing you are not the only one who thinks

all christians should walk with the holy spirit (not smoking not drinking... trying their best to commit themselves to God)

i also felt kinda sad and shocked when i joiend this site and read some people 's profiles oh well......

Mat 7:15-16 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
