2 Corinthians 6:14 ESV

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

The Bible speaks about being unequally yoked with non-believers but is unclear about being equal spiritually.

So is it healthy for Christians in very different walks with Christ to be together? (i. e. Charasmatic vs. Non-Charasmatic)

it's hard to judge someone else's walk of faith. i would say, no one's faith is really equal. in the end, a relationship with Christ is all that truly matters.

Riight but baptist vs. pentecostal there are a LOT of differences in beliefs and values. That would bring many conflicts to marriage.

It would depend on the people, and if they let it be an issue - which I don't mean to imply that those who did would be wrong. For me, it would be an issue. "Christian" isn't enough of a qualifier for me.

However, for some couples, they might be more laid back and moderate. If they can make it work, more power to them. I know couples who are on opposite ends of the political spectrum and do well anyway. It would be difficult for me, but they handle it well.

So. I think it depends on the people.

See I agree with you. I want someone who wants God more than anything and has a heart for God and I don't see how Christians who are on fire for God makes it work with lukewarm Christians.

All I know is that God will pick the perfect helper for me!

King James 2000 Bible (2003)

Genesis 2:18 - And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.

Jah bless,

Ken :)

@OP This was Paul's message to the Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 7 12-14

12But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.

13And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.

14For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

The first 10 years of my life were spent in a Pentacostal church. Later, I became a Baptist because there were no Pentacostal churches near. I still hold beliefs of both denominations. I believe in a strict, literal interpretation of God's holy word. There is no conflict inside me because of my different beliefs, just as their would be no conflict between my future wife and I even if she was of a different denomination. We are all responsible for our own beliefs and we, not our spouses will face God's judgement.

Thank you Ken and I've read both verses but no where does it say in the bible to marry someone who isn't saved. It speaks on if you become saved after you've already married someone who isn't.

They key is in the words. Yoked. A yoke is a device farmers use to join a pair of animal together for the means of pulling together. WHAT MOST PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW is that a yoke must be custom made to fit the animal. You just cannot use a yoke on any pair of animals. So if you and your partner are yolked it will fit perfectly no matter the titles we put on worship.

Don't you just love the details in the Bible. :)
