Guys, are you more or less inclined to attempt communication with someone that does not want children? I am just wondering how is that perceived by the guys on this site.

Depends on the age of the guy and what life plans he's made. And if either of you are catholic!

Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

This is not a suggestion,but a command.

Shalom

ps:

Whose will am i to be doing,my will or the will of YHWH.

But we cannot afford to be having children!

But MY career!

Believe the Gospel.

Php 4:19 And my God will fill your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

POIC that sounds nice

but if being pregnant would cause a womans aorta to rupture killing her and the baby she carried instantly would you sentence them to death so they could fulfill said command?

Also, what about someone who is past child bearing age? should they spend hundreds of thousands in fertility treatments and in vitro? And if so... at what age is it ok to give up? 50? 60? 120?

What about the woman who has ovarian or uterine cancer? should they tell the doctors... No leave the cancer alone I HAVE to bear children... even if I die from the cancer first?

Also, what about the woman who is infertile due to any number of reasons... is she just destine to eternally be in disobediance because she can not be "fruitful and multiply"?

Ya know... I would LOVE to have children... but I fall into one of the categories listed above... I've even gone as far as checking into adoption and wow... I don't ever see that happening either. I also attempted fostering but didn't meet their standards during my 4th home study due to being in school and working odd hours at that time.

I don't know what my future holds, but I like the idea of women who don't want children. I would be more inclined to talk to a woman who didn't want any, because I might be old and grey before I really do want kids. There is too much good to be done in the world that can't happen if you are using a ton of time trying to meet a little one's needs. I'm fine with being childless.

@POIC:

Well you can understand God's command in that situation. What if Adam and Eve had thought "kids? nah, can't be bothered with 'em!"...?

Fact is there are several Bible 'greats' who didn't have children - not least Jesus (unless you believe Dan Brown), so I don't agree that it was a universal command for everyone who has or will ever live.

I know that I am a girl, but I just thought that i would add my opinion.I could never be with a man who didn't want children. It is just such an amazing thing for two people to experience with one another regardless of where those children come from.Well just thought i'd throw my two cents in there...:)

Not really sure why you are taking that verse and applying it to this century, just as the other person said, that was said to people when the Earth didn't have many people. We have been fruitful, have multiplied and replenished the Earth already.

And anyways, most people do not consider that a command except for the illogical quiverfull movement.

God does give us a brain to manage our resources wisely.

I would be less inclined to talk to a woman who doesnt want children. If a woman is so selfish that she does not want children, if she is able to bear children, I do not want such a woman.
