Just passed the 5month-a-versery...
Posted : 12 Dec, 2011 08:59 AM

For those brothers and sisters who are still around, who remember when I married Scarlet_Maiden (whom I met on this site) I am giving an update of sorts.

I would like to share with everyone, my observations and some wisdom I have gained.

From our vows on July 4th to now, its been challenging at times.

Love is a wonderful gift yet it brings almost unbearable bouts of torment from time to time.

The root of this is:

Humans are frail, fallen creatures who inevitably wound each other. Even Christians, especially Christians.

(for some reason we expect that people who profess to follow the Lord will somehow "know better" or be some how more mature and discerning... and never hurt us.... this is a silly notion that will get us hurt a lot. Just remember "Offense will come" the important part is what comes next)

God's fix for these bouts of torment caused by the ones we love:

A special gift that He invented, called forgiveness.

As a married couple, forgiveness will be one of the most powerful tools you will ever use against Satan, in defense of your marriage.

Love has some other things going on, as well:

It also is a proving ground for one's heart and motivations.

Loyalty, if anything is a Fruit of Love.

Constant small sacrifices and sometimes even really big ones are like a "Pulse" in the body of love.

God Bless Everyone, This Christmas!!!

And may those who don't know Jesus personally yet... find themselves saved by the "one who will save his people from their sins" -Mathew 1:21

It has been said that marriage is like a 'THREE' ring event.

1.Engagemnet ring

2.Wedding ring

3.'SUFFERING'

Hahahahahahaha.

No seriously, talk with older men,and get good Biblical insights for your relationship with your Bride.

I do not know if this verse from Deuteronomy 24 still applies today.

Deu 24:5 When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, and he shall not be given any thing to do. He shall be free at his own house for one year, and shall gladden his wife whom he has taken.

Shalom

If only it were possible to take the first year of our marriage off!! That would be amazing!

But life in USA 2011 is much different than back then! We still have to work, cook, juggle church and family responsibilities, pay the rent, take care of sick cats, etc, etc...

But, God is with us! Princekermit and I are not giving up, even though marriage is not as easy as it looks!

Don't make the mistake of thinking all your problems will go away once you get married.

Nope, the problems do not end, they just increase.

Yet ABBA gives Grace to meet the needs as they arise.

Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Heb 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
