I find bad spelling off putting... Maybe it is because I work in the legal field and all documents have to have perfect grammar and spelling?

I don't know if I'd call it a pet peeve, but I tend to pass over guys profiles if there are spelling and grammar mistakes, unless I can tell they are non-native English speakers. However, I do know there are some great guys out there that aren't great spellers.

I suppose my tendency to pass over these profiles has to do with me being an English teacher.

haha, that's funny. I dont like poor grammar either, I saw a profile that said he was a "profeser"

I think my pet peeve when it comes to profiles is when they post pics without shirts, it's annoying.

or when they dont write anything about God in their profile...I dont get it.

Most guys I have met online say they do not like to type.

So that maybe why they have so many errors.

Actually what bothers me is a man's profile that has a Very Long Profile and everything is about him and all he has done.

Sorry, but I would rather just get to know him and ask my own questions. It seems it is all about him and that is probably what the relationship would be like.

To be fair though, I think it would be safe to assume that everyone here is on at least some level a born-again Christian, whether they're a baby taking their first steps or someone who's been walking for quite a while with God. Talking to the person will allow you to see that about them, in the way they talk to you and about life and the things they do.

As far as pet peeves go, I would have to also agree with the prior posters; bad grammar and spelling are seriously a no-no for me. :)

"profeser"-That's funny! I forgot about shirtless photos of guys. I don't even read their profiles. At least I do glace at those with bad spelling.

How about those that describe themselves as "attractive"? Is that really necessary and does ones own opinion of themselves even count?

Now it wouldn't be fair of me to mention them without mentioning those that are seeking someone "attractive". Really? Astonishing! Is it just me or does that come off a tad superficial? What about us poor, unattractive people? Oh, that's right, you need them to prove you're attractive:)

I think the guy that describes himself as 6 feet tall, athletic and into sports, yet does not have a photo in his profile.

I figure either he is lying about that or he is being honest but does not want attention from people just because he looks attractive.

I think what is attractive and unattractive to each person is different. I've seen a few profiles with guys in sleeveless shirts who have big muscles. Not that I would write off these guys, but I don't find them really all that attractive. However, other girls might.

I can understand you not appreciating bad spelling. It is not the fact that they cant spell well, but rather the fact that they are to lazy to spell check. I actually am not very good at spelling myself, simply because our language is not logically based, and is comprised of so many root languages. All the I before E except after C rules that are more like recommendation really bug me. True spelling ability comes with constant exposure to the words so as to imprint a familiarity with them. Oh boy, now I need to go proof read my profile for spelling errors, lol.

So one of my pet peeves is the mispronunciation of the word frustrated. It drives me nuts. There is an R after the F. vey fustrating, What do you mean check my spelling oh vey good I see, lol.
